• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hand Grip Question

I bought the Kuryakyn 6241 handgrips but the directions are not specifically for Spyder SE5's. Anyone install these on their bike? Are there any instructions on the forum specifically for our Spyder's? Your help would be greatly appreciated since I do not want to glue my throttle by mistake.

Unless these are totally different than the ones I have on my motorcycle, I don't think you need to glue anything. The throttle is a sleeve that fits over the handlebar and is held in place by the housing. The left side is held on by set screws.

I don't see any set screws on the new grips and they came with two tubes of glue. Instructions do not mention anything about set screws so I am assuming you have a different set.

I just had a look at the Kuryakun site and it looks like the Universal 6241 are the same as the Universal 6240, but for a smaller bar diameter. If you look on the site the instructions are there and they will not be bike specific. Are they the same set of instructions that you received?

I used the cement on the lift grip and none on the right grip as that side is plastic with ribs and holds just fine. Besides you wouldn't want to bust up that throttle bushing if or when you replace grips.

Thanks guys...took the bull by the horns and it was a piece of cake. They look great and much more comfortable than the originals. Thanks again!!!

Well not as smooth as I thought. Used glue on the throttle grip before I read your post. Now the throttle no longer snaps back, so I must have gotten some glue where it should not be. Hopefully it will wear off. Then again since I always use the throttle to slow down I now have a very inexpensive cruise control kind of like what I used to have on my Harley.
