There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hand Brake question

I had used Lamonster's post on the hand brake and added one to my:spyder:. Bought a generic clutch lever assembly for a dirt bike and am not real happy with the lever length and quality( paid a whole $17.00 for it!). Question is, Lamonster and whoever else has done this, what lever are you using? Lamont, you had mantioned a Moose product in your post. Are You still using the same one? I figure that you will be the one with the most miles on it.
Thanks in advance,
Carl

Why a hand brake when the foot break controls all 3 wheels...we are dealing with ABS here...works great...

Are you wanting to use the hand brake for all 3 wheels as well? Is this more an issue of looks vs. function?

I know the 2 wheels use the hand brake for about 70% of the brake power of the bike, but we Spyders folks don't have to worry about this...

There is quite a few of us who have installed the hand brake. As it has been explained on previous posts, the hand brake is tied in directly to the foot brake pedal. It has become my primary for brake application, due to adding highway pegs and having bad knees that don't like the sport bike foot position. BRP should have put it on in the first place.
I'm just looking for a little better quality brake lever assembly than the one I've got right now. It works great, just looking for a longer lever to match the clutch.:2thumbs:

Gotcha...that makes sense...

I wasn't sure what people were trying to do....I'd like to get highway pegs and having a hand brake would make longer rydes more comfortable!

I purchased a Parts Unlimited right hand lever assembly (part #59-625) from Dennis Kirk for $15.95..It works quite well and looks original..
