There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. :banghead: I called Dealer in Couer D'Alene Idaho. to set up appointment for repair/replace of electric frunk switch. all went well until I told him I had a couple of other issues that I wanted them to look at( nothing major) so he asks what other things? I told him about fast blinkers, wrapping my pipes with Lava Wrap and a couple other thingys, all went well until I mentioned that my spyder does the snake dance going down the road. his first response was " your holding the handle bars to tight" I negated that with" what, going 65 on straight nicely paved road(no seam) with my hands open cruise set and just palms on the bars. so he gets a little indignant and says" that's how they are, I've been hearing that since 2008. ( now my blood is boiling) I told him that was a B---S--T answer and when I get down there (140 miles away) I will open Spyder Lovers and pull up about 30 posts with people having the same problem and with the fix for some. OOOooo his blood was boiling cause he realized he aint blowing smoke up my keester( THANKS SPYDER LOVERS). He just wasn't wanting to do any of the Hard work that is until I told him he apparently didn't want to make any money and I have no problem driving 40 miles more to another dealer. That changed his attitude a little and he finally promised to check the ball joints and alignmet. should be interesting when I go down on the 23rd and look the boy in the eye and tell him his reputation has preceded him( he was just fired from the dealer that closed down 4 days after I bought my bike) and I know why " inept comes to mind, however he is due to go to BRP for training at end of month... should be an interesting go around... :banghead::banghead: I want to THANK ALL of you guys on here for giving me the information I need to not get smoke blown up my butt.. you all are the best.. I cant wait to see if he still wants to argue after reading about 60 posts on the subject...might just cool his jets a little....On another note I can understand him playing that nonsense, I used to do it too ( trouble shooter for phone company). haven't since I retired but I do know the game..... a BIG thanks to all my spyder friends:bowdown::bowdown: YOU'RE the BEST !!! and that's my rant for this week I think I'll go ride my:spyder2:

Go for it..!!

ryding your:spyder2: will blow some wind up your sails....:ohyea: Although the best place to be is ahead of the wind...:roflblack:

Just remember.... everyone has to be able to save face. Give the guy some room to do so. Put him in the corner but leave a little wiggle room for him to get out.

Oh yeah for sure, Management 101, always leave them an out but with very little butt left. I'm sure I will cool down by next Tuesday. thank for keeping it in perspective for me..

I would not take my bike to a dealer/tech that you just put against the ropes verbally. In your mind he is incompetent and I expect he will try very hard to prove that to you. Even the competent BRP techs are barely adequate. On a fussy problem like the RT steering I would find someone that WANTS to help. Just my 2 cents.

Let us know how it turns out, as may need to use that dealer as well.
And good luck I hope they get the issues fixed for you.

Wandering Spyder

I know how you feel, i installed rons swaybar and in the corners its day and night but like you said on the e-way the thing still feels like it has a mind of its own. I have 1300 miles on it now and still have that problem.:banghead::banghead: The dealer said they replaced the ball joints before i picked the machine up, so i dont know whats up. Its a very unnerving ride at 70 and your bike does that may have to take it back to the dealership and ride one of their demos to see if it does the same thing. P.S. 2013 model

we all have to do things to get our equipment serviced properly and i am happy that you stood your ground, and like others have said, stand tall but bend just a little when it is in your best interest.

Good Luck

:hun: .................................aw never mind, I guess we all are allowed to say and write whatever we want? Taking your advice from your post though you may have trouble as well looking for a tech that wants to help :roflblack: :roflblack: Maybe don't use this as your opening line?

Bob,
While I can agree with you that this relationship appears to be off to a rocky start; categorizing the BRP techs in such a manner is a bit... inaccurate!
My guy looks out after me and my bike; he fixes stuff that I didn't even know needed fixing, and he's not charging a usurious rate for his labor...
So I'm tickled pink with mine!

Good for you, some people need some of that. good luck

I hope that all goes will with your scheduled appointment. I see some red flags about the tech, and the possibility of "getting even," that could impact the servicing on the :spyder2:.

Let us know when its all solved.

You talk to one of my employees like that and I don't care how right you are...I'd send you packing. Take your service and your attitude someplace else. I could see by the second line of your post that you think your pretty special and you're going to prove it. Well I hope the underwhelmed are impressed by your mode of operation but the rest of us are not. You may be right about your problem and think you know the solution, but in the end you are wrong.

A tip to ensure good service...
A box of assorted Donuts goes a long way toward mending broken fences...
Amen brother Chocolate doughnuts here we come.. might have to carry them on my lap for the 120 mile trip to dealer:rolleyes:

could be a little melted in 98 degree heat- or not I might eat them on the way.hehehe not. and I promise not to do anything untowards to them. he knows what I expect, and now to endear him with kindness ( but, he knows the other side exists) thanks for letting me rant and rave now on to bigger and better things:bowdown:

We're all about building bridges; not fences...

Good way to lose business. But to each their own.
