Had an accident today...

I was on base working today. Stopped at the BX for a short look around. While leaving the parking lot (in my service truck) I was stopped at the end of the row waiting for traffic to clear when I was hit in the front end. By a shopping cart. The lady was leaving the commissary pushing her cart through the parking lot. She was texting at the same time and not watching where she was going. I sat and waited for the inevitable as she was heading right for me. Then, BANG. She had the most shocked look on her face :yikes: :shocked:. After recovering what little composure she could she backed up and started off again. I told her maybe next time she'll pay attention where she's going. The kicker was the guy who saw it happen. He was laughing so hard I thought he would pass out. No damage to my truck, just her pride.

I usually yell at them to stop talking/texting and walk. One day I was waiting turn make a left turn at a light when i noticed a little old lady in the median talking on her cell phone while leaning on her wheeled walker. This was an extremely busy road with 3 travel lanes in each direction plus a bus lane and the left turn lane so I was amazed that she had made it to the middle. I was trying to get my phone out so I could have my husband video tape her when we saw her put her hand in her purse then she was doing something by her ear and Joe thought she was putting her earring back on. We then realized that she put on a bluetooth headset and when she got the walk light she pushed her walker and talked hands free across the street. :roflblack:

I heard on the radio this morning that a girl in Alaska was hiking. While she was hiking she was also texting. She walked right off a cliff. I bet that was a wake up text.

Welllll, I talked to Bruisersbaby and Bob to ensure Bruiser had his Depends with him. I realize how people our age sometimes forget but after 5 minutes the person standing next to us lets us know.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I used to have a sign on the back of my RV trailer that said " don't follow too close or I'll FLUSH it!!!" is this where we are now???:roflblack:
