• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If you go with a revolver, there are shot (mini shotgun rounds) rounds that can be purchased. gives you some options.

Hmmmm

Small game calls for a .22
concealed carry/protection calls for bigger.
possibly a PMR 30. Shoots a .22, holds 30 of them! Not super easy to conceal, but even the dumbest crook will get the message after 15 or 20 shots!
Alternate weapon: Bond Arms .410 pistol. Also fires a .45LC. Easy conceal, takes small game, loaded with 00 buckshot, stops evildoers!!

Joe........

Don't be telling a newbe to go buy a Bond Arms .410/.45 long colt. You could be sued for that before you say "WOW, that SOB'n thing hurts like HE!!." You have to wear welding gloves to shoot that thing.:yikes::lecturef_smilie: nojoke

Everybody perceives recoil differently... :agree:
Personally speaking: I LIKE the heavy-hitters! :D
At about 1,000 pound/feet of energy: my Super Redhawk in .44 Mag. was a nice start to the day!
But when I was something serious: I take out the .375 JDJ Handcannon... almost 2,500 pound/feet of energy at the muzzle.

But neither of them is designed for easy carry, or small game.

Ruger lc9 is a nice little 9mm unless you had rather have a 380. Or get a 22 for varmets and something else bigger to conceal carry on the bike when your out riding I carry a sccy 2 all the time when we're out. Best thing to do is go to some gun shops and look and try out a few different guns

Join the GSSF for two years. You will get the membership card along with a buy program card. Then go to a Blue Label Dealer and purchase the Glock 42 in .380 for $340 plus sales tax. Buy some of the 100 grain .380 ammo from Freedom Munitions. The 95 grain ammo didn’t shoot well in this Glock like it did in my Sig P232. Fobus makes a nice holster for that pistol.

This is the setup I have been carrying for a couple of years. Also being a GSSF Member you can shoot in the Glock matches held all over the country. You will have a 1:4 chance of winning something either by placing or random drawing. Per random drawing, I’m currently waiting for my forth Glock I have won to arrive at my FFL dealer. I like the free Glocks!
50527FAB-F831-409E-B463-3ECFBF2634E8.jpgI added the small extension on all my mags so my pinkey isn’t hanging out there.

Hope this info helps?

Looking for a handgun cheap to shoot easy to clean take in the woods small game
but also conceal for my spyder trips.

Any sugestions
Thanks in advance
Agree with others, 9m is going to too big for small game and is a little light for self defense (although would work). For small game, accurate, I like the new Ruger mark IV 22cal. REAL easy to tear down for cleaning and there are a lot of different models to choose from.

CC is like RV's, they are all too big when you're driving (carrying) and too small when parked (using). I started with a Kel Tec 380, then a Sig P238, then a Sig P938 and now a Kimber Solo, when I want loud and big flames I take out my 5 1/2" Freedom Arms 454 Casull, used it to take many Whitetail deer.

a friend of my father's had to shoot an intruder to his shop many years ago and he used a 22, the police told him to "get a bigger gun". Personally, I carry a bodyguard 380 but I also have a Glock 27 to carry sometimes. Neither I would consider using for small game. Chris

It's clear that home defense is an entirely different game...

I prefer a 12 gauge pump, with an 18" barrel. The sound of that action, as a round is being chambered... AWESOME!! nojoke

How about the sound of an antique cap & ball colt? Right beside the ear of the bad guy? Pull that hammer back...clic, ety, click, click. Bad guy knows something's gonna happen that ain't good. Friggin' frightening!

Ruger 327 sp101 federal magnum 4.2 inch barrel

will shoot h&r 32's federal 85 grain for small game 130 grain for big jobs ??

I used to shoot a Replica Remington .44 cap and ball. It was quite the firecracker at night. A lot of fun to shoot but a pia to clean after.

I currently have a S&W Shield PC 9mm that I use for CCW, just a little big for the summer wearing shorts IMO. And was looking at the Sig 938 for summer CCW. How is it, have you had any issues? Is it picky with ammo?

If you had to it all over again, do you prefer the P938 or the Solo, if you had to choose only 1?
