Guage Light Dimmer

I ride quite a lot but not so much at night. Last night on a trip up to North Louisiana from New Orleans I was three hours in the dark. I was (as always) concerned about deer. The lights on the Spyder are really great at lighting the sides of the road. Actually, better than any bike I've ridden. A few times I held my gloved hand in front of the guage screen and I was totally amazed at just how much light there really was. Unless I find a way to dim the screen, I'll carry some blue painters masking tape with me and cover the entire screen except the speedo on the left. When I say the difference in what you could see with the guage screen covered, it was astounding. Anyone know how to dim the screen?

PS Try to avoid I-20 at Jackson Mississippi at night. The surface is totally un roadworthy and dangerous. One side of the track is higher than the other by at least 2 inches and crossing from low to high was kinda scary. Maybe daytime you can see the bad spots.

LIGHT ADJUSTMENT

Hit "ECO" ( mode ) button until you see the "preferences screen"...column#1. "contrast" > #2 " night " > choose what % you want -- click "ECO" ( mode ) again , this will freeze the settings, I choose 5% for nite and it works great, test what works for you.......Mike :thumbup::thumbup:........................................................................................... Yes. The Mode button is what Mike is referring to as the ECO button. Same button.

Yes. Look at pg. 32 of your operator's guide. There may there may be a separate Contrast setting or it may be under Configuration, don't know.

The ECO mode and mode button are one and the same. A quick push on the button will toggle the various functions on the dash. Holding the button in for a couple seconds more will toggle the ECO function on and off.
