San Michelle Bells

Stopped at a garage sale today. Met a real nice guy who had some unusual stuff. Inside of a cigar box I found two tarnished 3/4" bells inscribed:
"Campania Della Fortuna San Michelle"
and on the opposite side a four leaf clover with "Capri". Looking on the interwebs I found that these were used by pilots during WWII. I figured if they made it to NJ, I should hold on to them and put them on my ryde. He charged me fifty cents for the pair.

When I found them earlier today, I mentioned to the gentleman what my intentions were. He had no idea where he got them but said it must have been fate for them to end up with me. I plan on heading back tomorrow to see if he's home and tell him the info I found out to see if it rings any bells..no pun intended.
