Great deal on a 2013 ST Limited?

I currently own a 2014 RT, and I love it for those long, open road trips. But, I am considering either a RS or ST for my wife to ride, and also for some local rides that are less than 200 miles. My RT is a manual, and I love it. But I feel like an auto would be better for the wife to learn on, and also for in town riding. There is a 2013 ST limited for sale locally for $11k. The bike has less than 6k miles and is spotless. I know I would be having it checked out before the purchase, but is there anything that I need to be concerned about besides the heating issue that required the additional panels to be installed? Also, if the warranty is over, where is the best place to purchase an extended warranty (if I can buy one)? Thanks for your input.

That sounds like a great deal. I have the same bike and love it. Bought it used with 4300 miles on it last May and now have 10,500 miles with no issues. I thought I got a great deal at $14k. I priced a left over new 2014 at $22k with rebates. I did have the new panels installed and it did help with heat but honestly I never thought it was a big issue. As far as warranty, i have remainder of the BRP BEST warranty. I have debated on if i will extend it or not. I know that i have to decide before it runs out in May of this year. Best of luck on whatever you decide.

Go for it! For that kind of money; you really can't get too hurt! nojoke
You don't know my wife:joke:. But, you are correct. My other choice would be to get another 2 wheeler, and I know the wife wouldn't want that. And if I decide that I am not going to ride 2 spyders, and the wife doesn't want to drive, I can sell it at a good deal to someone else and get most, if not all my money back.

Gotta ask --- what does "the wife" think???

I love my 13 ST SE5 but surely it's her call?

 I've actually made this mistake... nojoke

"But Honey; you're gonna look GREAT on it, and it's not hard at all to ride them...TRUST me.."
It took about 17 years, for that episode to recede from most conversations...

So... What DOES she think of the idea? :dontknow:

I also have a '13 STL SE5

I bought it brand new in '13. Never the smartest move to buy the first year new model, but I did. It had some warts. Simple things that I have had fixed at the factory expense, AND I LOVE IT. Once I got used to it, it handles like a dream and I like the 998 engine. I would recommend the ST over the RS based on riding position.

IF YOUR WIFE LIKES THE IDEA, go for it. But don't talk her in to it or you'll be sooorrrrryyyyyy.

13 STL also

I bought mine as a left over when the 14's came out. 20000 + miles so far with no issues in 2 summers of riding. I would go for it if that is what she wants to ride.

I also ride a 2013 ST Limited. My Spyder has 21000 miles on it (bought new). Love it! Good luck with your decision.

I bought mine ('13 ST-S SE5) in May of 2015, new leftover out the door for $14K. Added the BajaRon sway bar and a Laser Alignment, handles like a dream, I absolutely LOVE IT!!!
Hope your other half likes the idea! Happy wife, happy life!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
