There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Possible Fix to GPS
just finished installing the Zumo 660. What I have done is run a lead from the audio out socket on the GPS and conected it to the mic in cord that is part of the GPS loom next to the USB cable. I have the full CB/Comms set up. I had to get the wiring and plug that goes into the radio to be able to connect the GPS. The sound now comes through the Headset but the volume in not very loud. My next step is to put a small amp in the mix.

The harness on the Zumo 660 should be long enough to run from the top of the dash to the plug at the rear. I have the slack tucked into the space where the seat latch is. Feeding the cable down through the steering is easy. Poke it down and hook it out from the side. You will need a touch to see the cable as it comes through. No need to take the head light out. I had to buy a 3.5mm to 2.5mm stereo socket to join the audio out cable to the mic in cable. You may need a small extension cable to go between the two. When I get an Amp and connect it I will post the results. Hope this helps.

Kind of puzzling you guys and gals are having internal audio problems with your GPS. I purchased my Garmin 660 from another source due to a HUGE $$ savings vs BRP's version. I installed it and the CB.. All components audio works great through the speakers or headset, depending on the audio selection made on mode button cluster, (RECC). I purchased the extra audio harness, shown below, from BRP. I think that is the key. You must have the CB/AM/FM and the extra audio harness to get it to work with the internal audio system. My only complaint, and it's minor, when I have music at just the right volume level, the GPS directions are a bit too loud in headset only mode....I can live with that problem, I'm accustomed to Kim yelling at me saying "Turn Here"..... Len

I have all that and it still doesn't play through the BRP headset.
By the way to can turn down the volume on the GPS to whatever you like and that's how it will play. I have mine set at 80%

As for your missing GPS internal audio. I purchased our helmets from J&M, pre-wired. They came with a special lower audio cable for Spyders, Take a look at this site. It's Shown as being compatible with Victory but is also the one that is compatible with Can Am: http://www.cycleaccessorystore.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=HC-ZVT
This could be the difference. Who knows.. Since you have all the components on your RT as I do, this possibly could be the answer. You will notice that the HC-ZVT is an 8 pin connector. The connectors come in two pieces. One attached to the helmet, one to the Spyder audio connectioin. There's easy to line up connector between the two. You may already have this but I noticed you mentioned a 7 pin connection in an earlier post.. Good luck... Len

so the audio harness which you need for the rear passenger headset anyways .. has a separate analog INPUT cable that you plug into the Garmin headset out port? is the port waterproof when you plug the power cable or audio cables into it? I have a cheaper Garmin 550 I think thats waterproof but no bluetooth i am going to use on a ram mount.

I tried connecting a small (matchbox size) amp to the "mic in" cable that is part of the GPS loom but to no avail.It made no difference to the volume. Don't know what I did but now the volume on the GPS is working through the headset.:clap: If I up the volume on the radio and turn it down on the GPS all is well. When I tried that before it didn't work. Must be a gremlin.:banghead: Anyway, I hope it continues to work. Good luck to those that are having problems.

GPS through headsets
Journie - Is the stereo cable you showed in the photo part of the harness from BRP? or is it a cable you added? Does it plug into the harness from the GPS or directly into the GPS. I remember a cable that the instructions said not to use and it was taped off in the harness -- wonder if that was the one.
I am having my recall service done tomorrow and thougth I would get this fixed if it is correcting a connection or adding a stereo line. The question is whether it would be a male to male, male to female, or female to female?
Any advice would help. Thanks in advance. Lonnie

I called Carlo and the dealer pleading that they stay in communication because I am not prepared to just leave my bike there forever. I have received calls from both about my call. The dealer has ordered another harness and it will be in sometime next week (week five). I will let you know what happens.

Steve, you have a lot of patience. While this problem needs to be addressed by BRP and solved, it is not important enough for me to give up my bike for over a month. Since the problem is so wide spread I wonder if changing out bits and pieces will solve anything. I heard somewhere that it might be a software, not hardware problem. If I were you I'd tell them to put your bike back together and call you when they have the problem fixed.

:agree: I fully agree with MangoMike. Get your machine back and ride... let BRP figure out what they need to do! There's something fundamentally wrong with their electrical mechanization, whether in hardwire or software, it seems to me.
I installed the factory GPS, CB, communication system, etc. by the book, and still can't get GPS directions in my helmet, only on front speakers. After reading about all the others on here with same problem, and an apparent inability by BRP to decisively pinpoint the problem and fix it, I decided I'd tolerate it and wait for the solution to be found. It will get sorted out and taken care of, and we'll all hear from Lamont, or Scotty or whomever when the code is cracked and the puzzle solved.
Love riding the machine (RT-S) in spite of it's idiosynchrosies (sp?).... was out in 29 degree weather today, LOVING it!
Ok.. time for some hot chocolate.....

Does anyone is Southern California have a helmet with a J&M headset that I can borrow/rent for an hour so my dealer can test to see if my BRP GPS works with it?

J&M Headset and GPS
I have the J&M and live in San Jose but my GPS doesn't play through my headset and my dealer has repeatedly told me it isn't supposed to do so. We have tried a number of things and none of them work. I finally gave up and was told that BRP would do nothing because the system wasn't designed to work that way.
Hopefully you will have better luck than me.

I have a email and received a phone call from BRP stating it is suppose to heard either in the speakers or the helmet, the operator's choice.

Just spoke with a nice young lady at BRP customer support who knew nothing about the issue, any possible solutions and her best advice was to ask the "dealer to contact BRP Dealer Technical Support beause they haven't had a problem that couldn't be fixed for the Spyders."
Well, that was fun.
I'll keep watching the thread and see what my fellow Spyder Lovers find out and how they get it fixed.
