For navigation I've normally just rely on written notes during the daytime or a GPS app on an old phone at night. However at the last endurance event on the first day my notes got soaked and the old phone fell off and broke, then on the second day I left the notes for that day behind (obviously my subconscious decided things where not difficult enough
). Fortunately I managed to remember the route and checkpoints, probably thanks to the amount of time I spent writing the notes in the first place.
Anyway back onto subject, I've now given in and got myself a Garmin Zumo 590 GPS but just trying to work out where best to mount it and hoping for some suggestions.

These are the factors:
- I already have my radar detector mounted directly above the clocks so that's not suitable location.
- I want to be able to still see the clocks.
- I'm in the process of fitting a hand brake so it can't be mounted off the bars beside the throttle.
- I'd rather not have it sticking high off the bars.
- The 590 already comes with ram mountings.
- The 590 can be setup in portrait mode rather than landscape and that's probably my preference.
