Need idea how to mount my Garmin Zumo 660 on my RT.
Where do you have yours mounted?
Also where did you get power from?
Any pictures and instruction would be appreciated.

Thanks for your input.

Factory location. Mounted in the center of the handlebars with an adjustable mounting bracket and wiring harness.

Would be nice to have the model and year model of your RT. Assuming that it is not a LTD model, did you get the mounting kit for the RT? Do you have the radio system?

GPS MOUNT

I diy'ed my own, and it is mounted high above the instrument COWL .... You can get JT's BAR and mount your's on that ( same area )..... It put's it right in your view so you can keep your eye's on the road easier ......Mike

GPS mount

I have a 2014 RTS with an after market Garmin 660. I took out my gauges and replaced them with a volt meter and GPS. Purchased RAM mount and made dick to hold the mount, self made. Ran power from wires of the gauge, this way the GPS is only on when the Spyder is on. Ran wires from GPS along gas tank and pluged into CB harness, so I can hear it in my helmet. So far works pretty good.

Not an RT, but I think similar.

Velcro

I put some commercial Velcro in upper right hand corner under dash. The GPS unit covers the tempature gauge but do not care.
Then I also have a strip on each side on the front of the GPS and run a thin strip back to hold it tight against Velcro on the back. Works great quick on and off.

I have had two ltd models. I added a second Garmin cradle on the dash/cowl top. I left the OEM one on the starring center and when I removed the Tupperware, I could see where to attach the wiring. Leave OEM alone and tap in where necessary (two power cables). photo 2.jpgphoto 1.jpgIMG_9692.JPG

Almost the same

I made a JT style mount and use it to hold a Ram mount ball and arm to hold a 660LM ( a motorcycle specific Garmin. Ran the wires to the pig tale inthe frunk that I use to charge the battery.
I think thehigher mount is the best. The Garmin bluetooths to the Sena. All done:yes:
Kaos

This is what I used, I mounted it on the handlebar, I like it because I don't have to take my eyes very far off the road to look at it.

My mounts are cheap, maybe not so pretty, but oh so functional. Basically used hose clamp, piece of inner tuber under the hose clamp to keep them slipping with RAM Mount RAM-B-252U under the hose clamps. Add the RAM Arms at the length you want and you are good to go. Works like a charm and suggested by another forum member awhile back. These were going to be temporary, but heck it worked so well they just stayedram mount.jpg

Yup. I purchased the bar from JT's and also a RAM ball mount. Now my GPS unit is right in my line of sight and i dont have to take my eyes off the road. 👍

I also have the same bar and ball.
How did you route the wire and where did you get the power from?

Power came up from the frunk. Routed it up through the windshield mount. Now, with that said, i didnt do it myself. Cost me an hours labour even though it only took between a 1/2 and 3/4 hour to do it. I didnt mind that cost. I had already done all the mounting of the unit, they only did the wiring. I just do not want to do anything myself with the wiring.
