• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We have just finished the trial fitting of the new 1 inch ball mount holder brackets for the No Magic Neon riser kits. :yes:

These ball holders will accept any 1 inch style ball mount accessory from many companies. These will come in 2 versions a 45 degree, and a 90 degree style. :doorag:

These mounts attach in seconds to the upper allen bolt on the NMN risers and have quite a bit of forward and back adjustment to allow for different choices in where you have your mount sit.

Ram Mounts Inc makes more than 100 different 1 inch mounts for everything from cell phones to a really neat no spill swivel cup holder. :2thumbs:

These ball mount brackets will be available soon and we are taking pre-orders for these now. :thumbup:

Nice. If I hadn't already mounted the Zumo on the dash, I'd use this. I think I'll need to pop over to the Ram Mounts site though to see if there's anything else I might want to mount using this.

What do you mean taking pre-orders, I need one now for the trip to Gatlinburg, heck maybe two of them. I get my new GPS tomorrow and I have to mount it before I leave. AGGGG!!! I will wait to get one for my cup holder though, I definitely will be adding that soon.

Yes unfortunatly RAM takes 4 weeks to fill orders! They say they buikld everything to order. It took quite a awhile to get these trial mounts here to test. :popcorn:

We have both these mounts the mounting arms and their wonderful swivel cup holders on order. :clap:

The real crazy part is they don't sell direct to customers ether? We had hoped they did, that way we could send you guys there direct to get the different mounts you may need. :dontknow:

Being they make so many different ones it is impossiable to have them all here ourself. However, we can special order any item you may need if you see it on their site. :thumbup:

This is just my opinion and is not an attack on anyones freedoms but it was just a few years ago that biker publications and some major bike advocacy groups that the reason so many motorcyclists were being injured or killed on the roads was that drivers were being distracted by electronic devices such as cellphones,text messaging and gps sys.Now I see that just about every bike manufacturer is offering these hookups for bikes so that they can talk while on the roads.I can tell you that as a paramedic that seems all too much the reason that there are so many accidents on the roads these days and usually its the excuse I here for the cause of the accidents.How did anyone survive before these devices came along?Part of being on the bike in the 1st. place is to to be free of these entrapments.I did't survive 2 tours in a foreign sandbox to be killed by someone who thought answering the phone was more important than piloting their vehicle.Now motorcycles,it seems,are becoming part of the problem.Some peoples handlebars are more busy than a ****pit of a fighterjet.I guess I'm of the old school biking,papermaps and just plain ole asking for directions will mostly get you were you want to go.The phone is just for emergencies.Sometimes technology can strangle you.

Thanks for your service. I have two boys in the Marines.

I would agree with you on the cell phone. I keep mine on vibrate and if I'm expecting a call I'll pull over and look to see but other than that I can wait for the next fuel stop.

GPS is a whole nother story. A properly placed GPS is no more of a distraction than a tach or a speedo. My GPS has a 5" screen so it's easy to read and easy to use. Until you have traveled on a bike with a GPS you have no idea what a great tool it is for finding roads you never would have gone on before, finding fuel or lodging or just knowing where you're at as if you lived there all your life. Sorry Bro but I don't go nowhere without my GPS.

URAHH TO YOUR SONS AND FAMILY!!While i was sitting here at my medic station my compadres really let me have it about the use of gps sys.I did't know it but some of the guys that come to work on their bikes here use the gps to take the back roads to avoid the traffic so they can get to the station on time.I just learned something.I AM HUMBLED! But,I'm going to have to do alittle more research of my own as far as whether or not i would use one.I loved all the travels I've done crosscountry by the old methods.One thing the Corps did for me was to give me a good sense of direction.Improvise-Adapt-Overcome.Anyway Lamont I have enjoyed all your knowlege of the spyder and the mods,I've done so many of them.Hope your sons don't have to serve in harms way.Semper Fi!:2thumbs:

Don't forget the joys of discovery in getting lost...sometimes hopelessly. I've seen a lot of places and things that I would not have seen if I was told where to turn at every corner. GPS has its place, but maps still work well, and nothing but a rough plan is an adventure.

I mostly use the GPS as an "unlost" device. Hey, let's go hooooome now! :)

I almost never try to follow a set route. Mostly I'll pick waypoints and just roam, that way it doesn't confuse the GPS. It just tells me which way to head to get to the next place, no matter which way I go.

The real advantage for me is the ability to "look ahead" at the road. Invaluable when you're on a twisty road you've never been on before. Ok, 2 rights & then a biiiiig left sweeper...

I really don't like surprises. ;)

My GPS has a digital speedo mode - I use it instead of the bikes speedo - turns are shown with a direction arrow and a bar graph (both on the side) as I approach a corner - also has distance & time to destination... The big plus, is that it has saved me from a ticket from an overzealous Fuzcycle.... wouldn't leave home without it. However, my phone gets packed away.
