• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GPS, Cell Phones, Cup Holders, and a whole lot more...

Here is my latest Ram Mount set up. I have the Lowrance XOG GPS and I also wanted to be able to mount my new camera for some riding video. Here is what I came up with. I used these few extra pieces that I ordered from GPSCity and made quit a nice little set up. I still have room for a cup holder from NMN if I choose to go that route. Anyway, here it is:

Put them all together with the Lowrance XOG GPS RAM Mount and this is what you get:

GPS is a whole nother story. A properly placed GPS is no more of a distraction than a tach or a speedo.
I would think that you riding in a Speedo would be pretty distracting. Ohhhhhhh....THAT speedo!!

GPS is a whole nother story. A properly placed GPS is no more of a distraction than a tach or a speedo. My GPS has a 5" screen so it's easy to read and easy to use. Until you have traveled on a bike with a GPS you have no idea what a great tool it is for finding roads you never would have gone on before, finding fuel or lodging or just knowing where you're at as if you lived there all your life. Sorry Bro but I don't go nowhere without my GPS.
I have to agree about the distractions as well. I have mounted a GPS on my Spyder and it IS a Godsend. An important difference on the Spyder over my car is that I don't "play" with the GPS while I am travelling at all. I set the route and follow (or let it recalculate if I miss a turn). No zooming in or out, looking for Petrol stations etc, if I am not stopped at the side of the road in some safe spot. It is actually a lot better than paper maps, but only if you program it when stopped.

Just mt 2¢ worth
