• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. My Garmin 660 GPS will not charge in Cradel on bike, I replaced the fuse, and as it powers up just says low battery... I can take it in the garage and and charge it fully and then in a few days it is back to loss of power....

I am trying to avoid bringing it into the stealership, last resort I will as I do have extended warranty....

According to my Zumo 660 manual, the unit will not charge in the cradle while it is turned off. Not sure or not if that's your issue.

No it is turned off

When you crank the bike it comes to a black screen and just says battery low....

When the bike is setting and GPS is off it does not charge....

It will only charge in the cradle when the key is on.
It is powered by the radio. Does it work?
What fuse did you replace?
A bad battery in the garmin will report low battery on startup but will work OK.
To tell if it is charging in the cradle the battery state of charge will disappear on the main screen. Does it?
How are you charging it in the garage?

just rode it 1,200 miles in 24 hour period

just rode it 1,200 miles in 24 hour period, and soon as It ran out of juice it never would power back up to run....Not sure if the stero was working as I very seldom ever use it....
I changed the 15 amp fuses in the box under the front hood,
I chaged it by using the USB cord plugged into it where the battery compartment is...

I will check this all out tonight when I get off of work--

I had the same problem

I had the same problem with my 14 RT Ltd. Took the bike to the dealer and they found a couple loose wires and gave the bike back to me but still had the problem. Took it to the dealer a second time and they replaced some kind of a radio module or sensor or something like that and that fixed the problem. Works fine now.
All I know is the dealer told me it was a $600 part but I was covered under warranty.
If you need more help I can give you my dealers name and phone number so they can tell you exactly what they replaced.

Put the GPS in the cradle with it turned off. Turn the key to the on position. The GPS should turn on by itself when you turn the key to the on position. If the GPS doesn't come on, then it is not getting power from the bike, therefore, not charging. Check the power and ground plug on the right side near the rear of the gas tank.

OK It has to be a modulator or something

The stero is definately going haywire, Every time I turn the bike off and remove the key, and then start it up it changes to a differnt frequency as in AM, FM, Auxiliary....The changing stations are also going crazy....

I will take it into the stealership
