There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. GP Shift

I have searched here and on Stalk and can't find an answer. Can you do a GP shift on these bikes? My CBR I could just change the shifter a litte and withen 10 minutes I had a GP style shifter (1 up, 5 down). Is this possible for the Spyer?

:dontknow:
Just wondering, Why? I have a few ATV's with different shift patterns and it drives me crazy when ever i go from one to the other.:gaah:

Interesting question for sure. One that I do not have an answer for. I suspect not, but do not hold me to that!

I am also curious as to why one would want to do that unless that is what one is used to...

My CBR600 is GP shift, just flipped over the linkage. It became almost natural for me, and I find myself questioning what a "normal" shift pattern is.

I like GP style better for some reason.

Normal is a highly subjective term! :D But if I had to take a stab at it I would think that The Spyder's stock shift pattern would be considered normal or standard. I have never used the GP shift pattern but I certainly see the merits of it (super-quick upshifting). And in your case the commonality with the CBR would be a great thing to have. This would be a good research project to see if it is possible to do. You have me thinking now!

You'd just have to be sure to not let anybody near your bike unless they were given a lesson in shifting patterns first...

The 1-down, 5-up(or more) is the most commonly used shifting pattern on bikes.

I have one GP shift bike, two right-hand shift, and the remainder left-hand standard pattern. I can't do anything about my right-hand shift machines, I just have to remember, but I don't want to risk blowing the engine in a moment of forgetfullness on my GP pattern bike. I reversed the lever on the shaft to make that one shift like the others. If the parts weren't made of Unobtainium, I would have kept it the way it was. I always liked the GP shift pattern.

I really enjoy my GP shift, so once I pick up my spyder, I might play around with the linkage to see if I can do it.

a "normal" or "standard" shift pattern is 1 down 5 up. I enjoy 1 up, 5 down a lot better.

I've got the toe/heel shifter and my gears are all down...of course you have to use the reverse on the handlebar when toggling the reverse gear..maybe I'm missing something here...not sure...anyway...here's the link for the shifter which requires a small cut-a-way on a piece of the tupperware..shifting is very fast and even better for my longer legs..
