• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

But I have a problem...going thru every start up process, and it takes many attemps to finily get the bloody thing started. I've BMWs and even a new Triumph Tiger... Turn key, wait for the ECU to boot, however even after pressing"M" the thing wan't start.
What am I doing wrong...or do I need to take back to dealer or re-set something??? Once I get the bloody thing started, no problems on re-start. Per the book after a 5 min sit, do this, then dance on left foot :banghead:
:-)...nada

Are you using the left handlebar "mode" button to cancel the message?

Don't use the one on the gauge cluster.

Are you-------

holding down the regular brake pedal as you hit the start button?

This isn't normal. There could be a number of causes. The "M" button is not the cause unless it doesn't clear the safety message, or sticks in, and switches you to setup mode. I'd see the dealer.

M button on handle helps:opps:...but have to " find" the right spot on the break lever. All the way done don't do it seems somewhere between all the way up and all the way down, I guess/.

I'll keep at it untill Learn to hold my mouth right:sour:

Thanks for the help

:congrats: on getting it though! I have :spyder:envy since I'm still waiting. Think of this as your first date - I'm sure you'll come to love it:yes:.

I think you should have it checked. I don't have to have my brake on to start my spyder. I just have to have my clutch pulled in. Something isn't quite right and after you get it started I would have the dealer check it out. These have a warranty for a reason, use the warranty and stay safe on your spyder. It will give you a lot more enjoyment once it is running and starting properly all the time.

I had the same problem and I realized I was "holding" the M button. All you gotta do is click on it real fast. I used the handlebar one - I don't like the one in the dash.

Did you get a manual or electric shift? Slightly different on start-up.

Key on-push M button handlebar once and verify that screen stops scrolling-clutch pulled in-shift into neutral gear - push start button (do not twist throttle)

Not sure if the above is the only way but it works for me every time and I am a beginner just like you and I had operator error starting problems. If this does not work I would take it to dealer.

Not sure if any one realizes that you don’t need to hold in the clutch when starting the bike as long as you’re in neutral, the starter will engage. You do have to hold it in if you are in gear otherwise the safety will prevent you from starting.

:agree:As long as the bike is in neutral the following should work every time:

1. Turn key 1 position to the right.

2. Wait for gage cluster to scoll safety message.

3. Press and release mode switch on the forward side of the left
handlebar controls.

4. Verify scrolling safety message vanishes.

5. Press start button on right handlebar control. No throttle input
needed.

This is the way I do it every morning. I don't even get on the bike.
No brake pedal needed. No clutch needed. (Unless in gear) No park brake needed. No throttle input needed.

If it doesn't start this simply, you may have a problem.:yikes:
