Got my iphone 3Gs just in time for our trip

Got my phone today and so far I love it. It looks the same but it is much faster that my 3G phone. The apps load quicker and the web loads much quicker too.

What I really love is the new camera with the video feature. I can now take a high quality video and 3 megapixel photos and upload them right to my MobileMe or right into YouTube. I can edit the video on the phone too. I love this thing and it's just in time for my trip to CA. I plan on posting all my pics on SpyderLovers but I'll also post them to my MobilMe account so you can see them as they are taken.

I love this stuff. :D

Here's the link to where I'll be posting our trip. I have a test photo and video in there now but I'll delete those before we leave.

As much as I want to give up my 3G and get the new 3Gs, need to put $$ aside for :spyder2:

Lucky guy! Video quality is impressive to say the least!

Looking forward to the vid's and pics!

Have a great time!

After having gotten an Ipod Touch and playing with it for a couple weeks now I'm very close to canning my Blackberry from Verizon and ordering up an Iphone.

Wish I Phone would use other carriers - No way do I want anything to do with AT&T. Got them as my land line - that's IT. And if we didn't need to fax stuff, I'd can them

I am very interested to hear what you think of it after you use if for a couple of weeks. I may get one in July when I get a discount.

Love my iPhone. As a typical "early adopter", I've been into smartphones for years. Nothing has ever come close to the iPhone in quality or fun factor!

I've been with Verizon forever and they do have the best coverage but I know a bunch of Verizon guys that have made the switch just to get a iphone. So far it has worked everywhere I've needed it to and I hope with the money flowing in from new iphone users they will improve their coverage. The iphone is just to cool to wait for Verizon to get it.

I have to stick with my 3G for a while. The new iphone has a slightly faster processor, 3 megapix. camera, and video...these are the major differences.

The new update for the 3G has all the other changes.

I'll stick with the 3G until the next generation phone (4G?) comes out in a year or so. I don't need video as I have the Flip UltraHD (HD video is awesome and better than the iphone!)...

The 3 megapix. camera with autofocus is nice though...

I love the iphones...they are sooo practical and now with the ability to send pics via text, I feel like the phone is complete!

Sorry Bro but it's not slightly faster, it' twice as fast as my 3G. This thing is smoking fast compared to my old phone. nojoke

Even booting the phone takes about half the time. Apps with long load times, like Sims 3, Oregon Trail or Metal Gear Touch all show how much faster you get up and running on the new device. Seriously, everything is faster. It's exactly the same experience as switching from a two- or three-year-old computer to something brand new. Your apps all look the same, but they load and run much more smoothly. Even if you're doing the same things on both machines, the new machine is that much better to work on. What does this speed increase mean for future iPhone apps and games? With the iPhone 3GS running on a 600MHz CPU with 256MB RAM (up from 400MHz and 128MB), there's a much higher performance ceiling for apps to hit. The OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics standard that's now supported paves the way for an impressive visual boost. Hubert (a former Nvidia developer) from Ubergizmo says it's somewhere along the lines of going from Half Life 1 to Half Life 2, which is essentially going up a console generation. Gamers should pay attention.

What's this 'land-line' thing you're talking about???:D

Gave up land line at home about 8 years ago - which more and more people are now doing.

Most companies with the 3 letter thing going on are pure evil---- ATT, MCI,IBM,FBI,CIA,IRS, etc..... :joke::D

Lamont,

Wowsers....2x as fast? Well, maybe I can convince the wife to get one as I don't think I'm eligible for a discount until next year anyway...I read that it was only a little faster...I thought the 3 megapix and video were the big selling points...speed is a bigger deal for me but I didn't know it was that much of a difference...

Yeah....looks like I'll have to wait until June 2010 for the next go-around...I can live with that...

Your review site was quite good...really comprehensive. I think the best feature might be the longer battery life as faster downloads means less time sitting and waiting and burning battery life in that process...

Enjoy the 'S' for 'Super Fast'...it does look much faster than the 3G....256 ram vs. 128 and a faster processor do make a big difference...I am curious to see the new update on the 3G as speeds are supposed to be tweaked...

Oh, one more thing for ya boss...get 'Say Who' for the voice dialer...it's amazing and likely a lot better than Apple's approach...

Yep, AT&T lowered the price today for folks that bought the 3G in July to $199/$299. I had mine new 3Gs by 8:10 this morning.

It's a good upgrade - camera/video and speed improvements are excellent.
