Got a problem here. Need help

My wife is getting much to confortable on the spyder. She is going to sleep while while I drive. I worry that she will fall off. Has anyone else had this problem. What is the best remedy for this problem.

This has been reported before

There are a few things you can do, tho some are better than others.
1) Ryde more aggressively, especially in corners & twisties:yikes:

2) Let her be in the drivers seat :shocked:

3) Put a nice coat of Armor-All on her section of the seat. She'll have no choice but to pay attention or go sliding off:cus:

4) Or you could do the most logical & invest in some of those DiamondR Arm Rests, those along with a backrest for you, and that would pretty much tie her in and allow her to doze off at will with little chance of flying off, tho their are always risks

As stated, some are better than others. Then theirs always the way that works for Teddy, he has a special Easy Rider Auto harness that I tether to his carrier which is tethered to the frame. He can get up & move around about a foot, but he aint going flying off :doorag::clap: If this is your choice, YOU GOTTA POST PICS :roflblack:

I thought You might suggest a big life insurance policy on her.

Do You think the arm rest would contain her when I do the dragón this year? She is not a big lady. She is 5' 8" and 119 lbs.. The arm rest might make her more comfortable.​

Im not speaking from experience, as Teddy's just not the same

But I have read other posts where they had the same issue, & this worked for the vast majority of them. And in my opinion, NO ONE SHOULD BE SLEEPING THRU THE DRAGON:lecturef_smilie:

I don't doze off, but I did feel very secure with the Corbin arm rests on our RT. HOWEVER, see if you can find a bike or two with different arm rests that your wife can sit on and see how they feel to her (coming to SpyderFest?:yes I say this because I am about 5'2" and found the Corbins a little too high to rest my arms on comfortably. And I couldn't reach the heated hand grips either!

PS. If you do decide to get the Corbins, we will be selling ours. They are off the bike now and we'll probably look at the Diamond Rs at SpyderFest. If interested, or if you have other questions about the Corbins, let me or KCPete know...

had the same Problem on my first father&son weekend in the alps - because I rode too carefully - but then I changed the music ..

First, I highly doubt she'll be sleepin if you're gonna be riding "the dragon". Second, my wife is 5' 6" and weighs (on one of her good days 117, bad day 120) and she loves loves loves the corbin armrests I got her. There ain't no falling off on the sides with those.

Get her a nice camera and ask her to "document" your rydes in the beautiful Florida Keys. If she has something meaningful to do (other than just ryding) she may be more inclined to stay awake. You have received a lot of suggestions...some meaningful...some not so much...just saying.

That is what I told my daughter I was going to do to her if she didn't quit falling asleep, to which she replied, "just don't tell mom because she won't let me ride with you anymore."
12 years old and wise beyond her years.

A sleeping passenger on a motorcycle of any kind does conjure up some scarry stuff for me.

I recommend not to do it. Then, good arm rests and maybe even a seat belt run through the OEM hand grabs.

We have the Corbins, they work great for my wife and she wouldn't ride without them. She has dozed off a few times on very long trips. Normally her helmet tapping the back of mine is a good hint that she's napping.
To be safe you might invest in a Ratchet strap from Harbor freight. that would fix it.
