Going to Weed!

Making a trip to Cloud Croft, New Mexico next weekend. Weed and Sunspot are on the list to visit. 3 Harleys 2 Goldwings and 1 Spyder RT. Probably go over to Bent and visit a friend. Should be a good Labor Day ride.

I hung out in that area back in the late 60's to mid 70's while stationed in Alamogordo. Driving 82 between Cloudcroft and Alamogordo there is a tunnel. Just beyond that tunnel was a pull off where you could look over the valley. There was a pipe that came out of the rock wall where you could get fresh, cold, water. I spent some time at the observatory at Sunspot. Camped in the Lincoln National Forest a lot too. If you get the chance take the switchback road from Ruidoso to the top of Sierra Blanca. That is a really fun twisty. I rode it quite a bit on my 350 Honda. Also visit Inn of the Mountain Gods, the Apache Indian resort and casino. Beautiful. In any event, enjoy. Wish I could be there too.
