• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Going to be a dumb question but . .

Picking up my new 2015 F3S next week and am looking for riding gear. Looking at RevZilla.com all the jacket I like they call "racing/performance jackets. Do Spyder riders wear more "conservative stuff" or is it OK to wear more "bike related equipment? I don't want to look like I think i'm on a racing crotch rocket! I believe it stupid to not wear protective garments but I don't want to look "stupid".

:D This is actually a GREAT question!
For what it's worth: buy what you want, and ride your own ride! :2thumbs:
Nobody will ever call you stupid!

Bob usually rides naked so take what he says with a grain of salt :yikes:.

just find what is comfortable for you and you'll be fine.

Whatever you are comfortable riding in. I have 3 primary jackets, a black leather from my old H/D days (no logo :)), an Aerostitch waxed cotton with armor, and a synthetic mesh for summer. No one has given me any grief yet! :)

The only STUPID :yikes: QUESTION is............................. the one never asked !

I often....

I often ryde with a group of other Spyders and it runs the whole array of gear. There are ryders who go to the hilt with the ATGATT while others wear mesh jacket's and jeans and others go with t-shirts/shorts. Go with whatever you feel comfortable with....be it Full on Safety or relaxed. You ryde your ryde....

Buy for safety....

not for looks or to impress. Their your bones and skin, protect them well. If you look good its a plus if you impress any one double plus. now most of them come in basic black...wife says you can never go wrong with basic black...:roflblack::roflblack:

You will see a lot more High Viz on Spyder riders than you would see leather or racing/performance jackets but you need to buy something that is comfortable for you and provides the level of protection that you want. If it isn't comfortable then you've wasted your money.

I'm a true fan of ATGATT but today was so hot and humid, I had to settle for helmet geans and a t-shirt.

Folks around here probably don't even notice me anyway, only the spaceship I'm riding/flying. ;)

II bought from Revzilla and had bad service on a damaged item.so I would say try cycle gear.com. I have had good luck with them

I've used Revilla a bunch and had nothing but good service from them. Sorry to hear your experience was different. But I must say we just bought a new Sedici (their store brand) jacket from Cyclegear and it looks like a good jacket at a great price. We'll see how well it holds up....

Just don't show up in a three piece suit and tie and you will be fine. What do you care what other people think anyway! Be comfortable, Be Safe.

Jack

I don't know what category my gear is listed under all i care about is will it protect me if needed from falls or bullets & will it keep me hot/cool
depending on the season

Proof that you can wear whatever you want...

IMHO, tourmaster is the biggest bang for the buck (admittedly after many many years, their crotch zippers tend to fail)

I have a cold weather pants/jacket and a hot weather/vented set

Wifey's gear is the flex which has panels that zip out from mesh inside so hybrid making it a true all weather gear

my favorite supplier, by far, is motorcyclegear.com for customer service and liberal return/refund policy. they also email me a 10% coupon monthly it seems. I'm in LA and they are in TX, so very fast ground shipping is a bonus.
