• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Going Spyder(less) crazy

4 weeks go I tripped going down the TWO!!! (:cus:) stairs into my garage when my wife and I were leaving for work. As I was sitting up, I notice that the wrist was .5" in the wrong location :( A panicked trip to the ER (thank God my wife was there to help me) and I got the news that I broke the scaphoid (very bad news), the radius and the tip off my ulna. A week later I get screws in everything and a big old plate to boot. TSA will love me.
I was told no pushing/pulling/lifting for 3 months :gaah: That means no 1 month old Spyder for the rest of the season unless global warming throws me a bone this winter. I'm out of a splint after only two weeks thanks the screws and plate holding me together, but now the therapy begins. I damn near cried when I sat on my favorite redhead and couldn't even grip the throttle. Thankfully I'm feeling better and therapy is starting to produce enough results I can ride as pillion and hang on with one hand and my legs for simple little rides. It's bitter sweet to be on it but not able to ryde.

Here's to hoping therapy gets me back to normal faster than expected! I miss my Spyder!

Stay safe everyone!

Here is to a speedy and complete and functional recovery. One just doesn't bounce quite as well past 30!!!nojoke

I will not wish for another warm winter, not sure the farmers or the consumers of their toil can afford another winter like we experienced last year. (even if it was great for ryding)

Hope you have a speedy recovery. May the weather overlords will grant you a nice winter riding day after your recovery.

Get well soon then get some cold weather gear and ride like the wind. I'm hoping to do the same this year myself.

You're probably right. Perhaps I should have asked for a late winter, just to sneak a ride or two in.

It wasn't so much the warm winter as the incredibly warm March...followed by an extended freeze. Add in the drought, and it spelled disaster.

Ouch

You are probably having serious withdrawals, I know the feeling, in 2009 I tore my right rotor cuff at work, I was off work 5 1/2 months, no riding for 3 1/2 months, after 16 weeks of physical therapy I was 100%. Physical therapy works with a "want to" attitude, but don't push it too soon, wait until you get your strength up. Heal up strong and then ride.

An addiction by any other name. ..............

Sorry to here this & hope you heal up soon, but don't push it to hard, or you could cause more problems in the long run. When I was going thru my PT after my back surgery in Feb, my Therapist always use to tell me. . . . . Too Much, To Soon . . . . . Too Bad for You :lecturef_smilie: I know I was getting depressed with not being able to ryde:( The Spyders like an addiction & you feel so good when you get to ryde, but then theres the other side we all have to contend with as well. I better shut my mouth, or next thing we know, the FDA will want to Regulate our Spyders as a Controlled Substance:yikes::lecturef_smilie:nojoke:gaah:Good Luck from Teddy & I :pray:IMG_20120409_154539-1.jpg

Healing seems to take a lot longer when there's important stuff being missed...
When I had the "bone-ectomy" on my left foot in Sept, 2010; I was off the Spyder for a Month.. :gaah: It felt like 12 years! :cus:
Hang in there and shop for farkles!

So sorry to hear about your calamity but make sure you listen to your doctor and the therapist so that you will have no major or minor setbacks. And maybe we'll be lucky and have another mild winter.

Carl

Sorry to hear about your injury. :( Wishing you a speedy recovery, along with a delayed winter, so you can get some riding in. I agree with Bob, shop for farkles in your downtime. :D

I'll be that Mike is starting to get worried over what your Christmas "Wish-List" is going to look like! :roflblack:
