• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Go Pro Camera

I went with a Drift HD camera due to is smaller longer profile and mounting to the helmet. It has much less air drag. I find mounting a camera on the bike itself to be problematic with vibration. It is not as good as the GoPro but good enough for what I wanted it for. Best thing was I got it for $79 at Best Buy when they had one of their "deal of the day". It was normally $199!!!

here's where I mount my GoPro on my RS. this vid was with my Hero2. I now have a Hero3, and haven't gotten a good video on it yet.

I am thinking about purchasing a GoPro camera for Christmas this year. Is this camera worth the investment? Is it hard to operate? Pros and cons??

Thanks!

Thanks for the input everyone. I ordered a black GoPro Hero 3+ today. I also ordered the larger scan disc, suction cup mount, extra battery pack, and LCD touch screen. That oughta do it. Merry Christmas everyone!! HoHoHo! :clap:My first videos will be my rydes to the Keys and Daytona Bike Week.

I used my GoPro Hero3+ Black on a ride through the Texas Hill Country this weekend. It worked great. I mounted it using the suction cup inside the windshield of my RT.

I use a GoPro at work for product videos (we make truck parts). GoPro is definitely the market leader, but I would not be afraid to try the new JVC Adixxion. I looked it over at REI the other day, and it's impressive. I like the fact that it's waterproof without resorting to the GoPro's clear clamshell.

At home, I have two cheaper sports cameras, a Kodak PlaySport ZX5 and an Xtreme HD. Both run less than $150 shipped

Here are a couple of video samples on our Spyders:

PlaySport (Ignore the jerkiness; handheld as passenger on the back of my wife's RT.)

Xtreme HD (Used velcro strap mount on the RSS handlebars. ):

Guess I should have checked with you folks first. Was going to go with the GoPro 3 but decided on the Garmin VIRB Elite. Now I need to decide on how to mount it on my RT, hope to shoot some video real soon.

Update:
Here is a short video I took on a short group ride with the Garmin VIRB mounted on the dash with a sticky mount.

We purchased one of the Go Pro 3+ and would like to know which mount and where would be the best place to mount it on the Spyder RT?

Mrs. Hayfield got me the GoPro Hero3+ Silver for Christmas. I ordered a 64GB SD Micro card for it . . . supposed to arrive tomorrow. I used one of the stick on mounts that came with it, and mounted it right behind the windshield, on the dash. Because the dash is not smooth, I don't know if it will stay on or not, so I've attached a lanyard to it, just in case . . . I'll see how that works. I love the Android App that goes with it!
