• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Go Pro Camera

I am thinking about purchasing a GoPro camera for Christmas this year. Is this camera worth the investment? Is it hard to operate? Pros and cons??

Thanks!

Great camera not only for recording your rydes but with different attachments you can record just about anywhere. I used mine with the head gear and recorded the Expedition Everest ride at Disney's Animal Kingdom. What a blast watching that vid:yikes:

Enjoy the day

They are great. I have the GoPro 2 series and now they have the GoPro3 series out now. The neatest is using the WyFi setup on the cameras. You can put one camera on a bike in front of you pointing backward looking at your bike and you can control the camera from your bike. Neat. Video is supper. There is a app for your smart phone to control every thing that the camera does. They offer a free editing program from GoPro website to put your videos together with.
Hope this helps.. Bob

Same idea

Been having the same thoughts and stopped by Daytona Fun Machine last Saturday an they were down to zero stock on hand again. Somebody likes their products for sure. Watched the canned video on the display rack and the quality blows me away.

Remember the big motorcycle beating news a while back? One of the riders in that mess was wearing a Go Pro on his helmet.

I too went through many different camera's but I am glad I settled with the GoPro. Very simple to use and does a great job.

JVC

I have been shooting with the GoPro but try the JVC or sony action cams. Very simple to run and great picture. I'm thinking of changing.

I like my JVC ActionCam. No need for a separate waterproof housing or a separate video display.

I have the GOPRO3 Silver that I bought at Costco for $225.00. I think it came with more than normally comes when purchased at other places. I mount it to my Right mirror. LOVE IT.

Bought my go pro 3 black edition on a cruise ship last year, so it was duty free. Have not used it a lot, but when I did the video was fantastic!

Check to see if it will do what you need....I fly a Hero 2 on my Quads and Hexes and others have had problems with the quality of the memory cards and how they're formatted when used with the 3 series.
Just be careful.

GO PRO Camera

I use my 1st edition GoPro on every ride. It may not have all the bells and whistles the other ones have, it still shoots awesome videos. I use their chest harness so am able to turn on and off.

I have the 3 version , great camera! Ap on phone works great ! But you must practice with it , before using , get familiar with the controls and set up. Great Visio and camera shots ! I have another make also great pic and Visio , will also zoom and does not have to be vertical to mount . Go pro is rated number one and my other one is rated #3 . Go pro is easier to use !

I have been wanting a GoPro for a while now and my wife surprised me with one for my birthday earlier this week. So now it's time to find a location to mount it and get some micro SD cards.

If you get the GoPro keep in mind that it doesn't come with the micro SD cards and there's lots of accessories you can buy for it.

You can t go wrong on a go pro black. However everyone else is starting to catch up. Heres where the apple/android/windows phone argument comes into play... A lot of people love android phones, but there is no denying the fact that it took many years to catch back up to apples technological leaps in smart phones.

So along those same lines, others are about caught up with gopro but i will say that i have not seen anything with the same image quality. Very close, but not the same. More ghosting, and frame rate concerns.

That being said, i expect in the next year or so, we will be seeing quite a few new products on par. So again, cant go wrong with go pro, but patience may allow you a similar option in anoth package. But gopro will still be ahead.

if it's a must have this season just start looking around for some of the black friday deals. i am betting there will be some great deals out there for christmas.

We use our GoPro Black Edition quite a bit. I used to record every ride, not a bit more selective. I use Sony Vegas Pro 12 to edit files and can get some great stills from the video. Here are a few examples.
