Go Pro camera mounting location

Anyone had success with mounting the camera without too much vibration? So far I've come to the conclusion that the suction cup is the only option.

You decide. I have found the trick is to keep the distance between the mount and the camera as short as possible to minimize the vibration, and using a couple small bungees as both a safety tether and additional stabilization.

FWIW I've had a GoPro sticky mount and the short attachment on a race bike at 130mph with no appreciable shake.

Helmet mount is the best option I've found for the GoPro. All the places I tried on the body and windshield and air deflectors had too much vibration.

Don't mount it on top of the mirror, I found out the hard way, I have a mount on the side of my helmet so it doesn't interfere with the opening and closing of my module helmet. It will take get video if you remember to turn it on:banghead:.

:agree:, but people really look at you funny while you're wearing the chest mount. You do get a nice frame of the top of the spyder dash.

When I had my GP2 (its since dissapeared), I had it mounted in the same spot as the video above. Haven't tried it on my helmet, but I like that concept better as it shows where you look during a ryde.

I use this to mount my cheaper knockoff camera on the lip of the dash shooting thru the windshield. Works well if you keep the bugs cleaned off the windscreen.

I have one of those clamps too. They're BEEFY! Rock solid alternative to a RAM ball mount.

Other than a helmet mount, I found the best place on the RT to mount a camera is the side air deflector (if you still have the original ones installed). I tapped out one of the small Ram balls 10-32", and drilled a #11 hole in the air deflector to mount the ball. I tried the ball mounted on the inside as shown, as well as on the outside of the deflector with equal results.
