There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Glove Box Question with Corbin Seat

So I installed my new Corbin seat today on my 2016 RT Limited - problem is that it covers the edge of the glove box so that the glove box lid will not open - unless you open the seat.
Since they have been making this seat since 2010 and told me it would fit the 2016 - I have a feeling they did not test its compatibility with the glove box.

Does anyone know what year the glove box was introduced on the RT? Anyone have a 2014 or 2015 RT with the glove box?
Better yet - anyone have a Corbin seat on an RT that has the glove box also?

Normally one would think you could adjust the seat farther back, however the latching post on the seat is not adjustable - neither is the latch receptacle on the bike.

I will call them tomorrow for a return - but it would be nice to have more info on the situation in regards to fitment.

Thanks in advance for any info.

P.S. The seat was in stock - not custom ordered - so I should have no issues with a return for non-fit.

Loosen the back bolts and push the seat back.
When I had my Corbin I also had to remove the seat latch
that holds the seat down.

I hate to not have a seat latch

Yep - I can move the seat back but I don't want a seat that won't latch.

I would think they could engineer the seat to latch and allow clearance for the glove box.
Can Am does it with no problem.

Well, might I suggest that you reconsider before you pay the freight to return the seat. The seat should fit as shown in their picture with no interference with the glove box. However, a lot of us with the Corbin, have removed the latch pin from the seat.

Because - The seat is so heavy that it's not going anywhere, especially with you sitting on it. It doesn't provide any fuel cap security because of the fuel door. It ensures that the seat can be aligned properly and it sits fully down on the rubber bumpers. And it eliminates the possibility of a jammed latch issue ever preventing you from lifting the seat in the future.

I purchased a Corbin seat At Reno Street Vibrations last fall
The first seat they put on would not let the glove box open he tried to readjust it but it would not latch with the latch and line up correctly with the glove box
He took it off and tried another seat and it fit perfect
I would not have bought it if it did not fit right
Seams their quality control is not that great

For the price of the Corbin seat it should fit and latch.I,m like Denno i want it to work as it should.I have the Ultimate fits great and comfy for the long rides.

I really like the looks of the Ultimate but I read somewhere - I think on their site, that you need a rain cover for it - even when riding in the rain.
We ride, rain or shine, especially on long trips, so that could be cumbersome to carry around a rain cover and stop to put in on at first sign of rain.
I have the travel cover for overnight so covering it then is not a problem.

Have you found that to be the case - is it necessary to have that rain cover while riding from your experience?

I have the rain cover but never used it.Even when I wash the bike I don,t use it just wipe it dry when done. The rain cover is very compact and easy to use if you want.I also try to avoid riding in the rain but have a few times with no problems.

I had the same problem. I just installed mine about 6 weeks ago.

I was able to get the seat back as far as it could go, but I didn't tighten the bolts. Took it for a couple of spins around the neighborhood, and there was more wiggle room. Tightened them down and good to go.
