• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Glare Stomper and RBNS Hood 660 GPS hoods review

I have had a Glare Stomper on my Zumo 550 for years and while not perfect it looked and worked just fine. So when I got the Zumo 660 with the Spyder I order the Glare Stomper for it.

The 550 hood is nicely shaped at the sides and hugs the 550 quite well, its not too wide, enough to bock the glare but not over the top.

The 660 hood as no shape at the side and the folds that help it hug to the GPS are in the wrong place. The width is to wide as well it makes it hard to see the screen. You could cut an inch to an inch and quarter off and it would still block the glare but make the screen easier to see. It looks like some scrape martial I draped over the GPS. The picture below is not a 660 and looks ok, but on the 660 it does not hold its shape. I gave it one star on amazon

I purchased a RBNS Hood on Sunday and received it today(great fast shipping), it was twice as much as the Glare Stomper at $30, but well worth the extra money.

Its a hard shell hood so it does not fold like the Glare Stomper, but the hood attaches/detaches in seconds with velcro. It looks a hundred times better and looks OEM.

It shades the screen with out making it hard to view and fits perfect. Highly recommended.

Now after giving such a poor review of the Glare Stomper, if anyone who is going to SITA wants a free one just let me know.

Each to their own and you may love it, you will have to get a small strip of velcro to stick on the GPS as I used the same one for the RBNS Hood.

I had an RBNS hood on my Zumo 550 on my BMW K100LT

On my Spyder RT-S SE5 2010 Model I had the Zumo 660 fitted between the handlebars as per the Limited edition model

I purchased the 660 RBNS Hood becaused I was so pleased with my earlier one

I have made a bracket which holds the RBNS Hood in place between my Zumo 660 and a Tourtech Locking mount
(Used for extra security)

see my earlier post ref this Bracket

Read the review and just ordered one a second ago from the link you provided.

Couldn't stand another day fighting sun-glare.

Hope to get it soon.

Thanks for the recommendation.
