Getting front tires balanced

Has anyone taken off their front tires and rims to have them balanced? Took mine to the local tire dealership chain(Discount Tires)but they could not mount them on their balancer because of the rim configuration. Next I took them to a motorcycle dealership and had the same problem due to the fact that there is no bearing in the wheel so that they could use their type of balancer. Any ideas?? How about liquid balancer? Pros,Cons??

I changed both front tires at 60,000 miles, balance was done in the shop.

When I got my powder coated rims in I tried to find a place to mount the tires. I tried Tire Kingdom, Tires Plus, and a few other shops. They started off by saying they could not work on motorcycle tires. When I explained they were car tires, a couple of them took a look and said their equipment could not handle it. I finally found a repair shop in a small town about an hour away that said they could do without any problems. It cost me $40 total for them to remove the wheels from my Spyder, switch them to the new rims, mount and balance them, then install them for me. The good news is we were able to fit one rim in my trunk and one in my wife's. :D

It may take some searching, but there are shops that can get it done for you.

Best of luck!

Discount Tire did a rotation and balance for me--- but once I needed new tires put on they suddenly refused to touch them--- because of the MC stamp on the tires.

Belle Tire said they could do them--- no problem. My dealer uses Belle Tire to do all their changes and balancing.

I had my new fronts put on by a buddy with a small auto shop for free - but he couldn't balance them.... will just use Ride-On and let that take care of the balancing.

Dude, I took my stock rim and tires to Walmart and had them put the tires on my new 6 spoke rims. They did it and balanced them with no problem for like 20 bucks. Been running on them now for over a year.

Getting tires balanced

Thanks guys, appreciate all the info. I seem to have a lot of tire bounce from 58 to 68 MPH. Didnt notice this until I installed the Evoluzione sway bar. I have tried both settings on the sway bar and used every shock setting but cant seem to get rid of the bounce.

I went to Discount tire as well to have them put on my new rims and balance them. The tires were too small for their balancer, so I took it to my local motorcycle dealer and they did it. They did a great job. I am lucky that I live about 10 minutes away from Daytona fun machines, who is also a can am dealer.

wheel weights

just replaced tyres. balanced on automotive roadforce spin balancer without a problem. just beware that the position of the stick on weights on the wheels will interfere with the lower ball joint stud if incorrect. use original location as a guide.
