• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gear chatter in neutral?

Isn't this the same "pebble grinding" noise another member has experienced early on and had his whole engine replaced by BRP? Mine has done a milder version of that noise from the beginning, when warmed up, in neutral. I think it's fairly common, if it is what I think it is.

Mine does this also. Dealer told me it was normal. Sounds to me like a throwout bearing noise that we used to hear in older cars.:yikes:Will be watching this post. Maybe if we start calling BRP we could get something done. If only the dealer knows they probably don't tell BRP.

Ya my f3s does the same thing in neutral when hot - goes away when you push the clutch in, or give it some fuel funny thing is I met 2 other people with f3 sm6 on the road sound the exact same - doesn't bother me but thank God for warrenty

My fellow Spyder lovers, everything is fine with the F3 motor. In the end, it was what I though. Machines make strange noises. I heard a sound that perked my ears up because I had not heard the 'pebble' sound before.

The unsolicited advice I have for everyone here is to not worry about the 1330 ACE motor unless you start to notice a performance problem. If you get on the throttle and it pulls hard, you are fine.

For any conspiracy theorists out there...I have had no direct contact with BRP on this issue. Everything went through my dealer. The dealer took a monetary lose swapping out the motor but took care of me above and beyond my expectations.

My F3 still makes strange noises sometimes. Do I worry about it? No. I just ride it like I stole it and have a blast.

Regards,
CanAmChris

My 1330 sounds a lot quieter and smoother at idle now that it has 7,000 miles on it. When I first got it the sound it made concerned me a little.

YMMV
