So the wife rode her 2011 RT over Sonora pass this weekend, enroute to Topaz Lake. She has never gotten the mileage I get on my harley, but this was ridiculous. 21 mpg????
Went to start it this morning, it throws a check engine light. Shut it off, restart, good to go.
Coming home, the boss starts to diagnos on the run. She realizes that her ANOLOG Tach, which she trys to live by, is showing just about 700 RPM LESS than the digital tach. Based on her attemps to follow suggestions here, her 5,00 to 6,000 rpm shifts ate now closer to 6000-to 7000 rpm. THAT could be the fuel mileage issue.
Now the bigger issue, After a short break, we were back on the road, and the anolog tach went up to 6000, and just hung there. Even when she pulled over to check in out, motor at idle, tach at 6000.
Stopped for fuel, mileage was a bit better. Restart the the spyder, tach seems to be fine. Pretty much matching the digital one.
Anyone have any ideas, or do I need to take to the dealer? She is getting ready for Spyders in the Redwoods, and is afraid something major is wrong...
