• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas Tank noise

I was riding last Friday and it was pretty hot here that day in old VA, when I got home I looked under the bike and noticed drips coming out of a hose which I assumed went to the evap cansiter and is was fuel drips coming out of the hose. I then took off the gas tank cap and it sounded like "RICE CRISPIES" just like the old commercials..... So I am going to get some adhesive backed heat shield and rap the tank and see what that does for it.

 Your Spyder will run better on gasoline than it will Rice Krispies... :roflblack: have you any idea what was causing that noise??

I think it is related to the heat from the exhaust pipe. I will be picking up some adhesive backed heat shied material tomarow to put on the gas tank so we will se what that does for me. I know the tank was hot to the touch when I was listening to the snap, crackle pop guys in the tank.

Almost any motorcycle will boil fuel in the tank. Most times we never notice. The Spyder does it easier, because of trapped heat.

:agree: At atmospheric pressure Gas boils between 100f to 400f, The reason some notice it is because among other reasons your up close and personal to the gas tank on the Spyder.

:popcorn: Good luck! Please let us know if it makes a difference...
When i was riding ATVs; my Grizzly came with a pretty impressive heat shield between the tank and the engine... prior year models had shown that heat from the 660cc mill would boil up the fuel pretty darn quick...
