• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just purchased a new 2016 F3 limited
are there still issues regarding problems closing the lid on the gas tank or has it been resolved by BRP?

I spray a Teflon spray on the rubber washer and then on a rag and wipe around the inside of the tank area. I do this about once a month and it has stopped the hard closing gas cap issues.

I rode yesterday and was beginning to wonder if I would ever get it closed. I have a 2016 F3 T.:banghead: I was going to ask if anyone else had issues and saw your post. So, I am guessing it has not been resolved.

Same exact issue with our '16 F3L. Absolutely stupid design, ours needs an excessive amount of pressure to close too. Tried lubing the slide area - didn't really help. I actually took it all apart and there are 4 springs in there that apply resistance which causes the excessive effort required to close it. Seems to me that those should def be a hair softer of a spring and this wouldn't be an issue.
I have a disability in my hands and so this is especially annoying for me. But even with the disability this is the only one of our bikes that requires this much pressure to close without having the surface area to push on. Just stupid.

 I'm not suggesting this: Could those springs be modified in any way to reduce their stiffness? :dontknow:
Definitely. If it wasnt for my disability i would take it apart again and do it, but tbh i was lucky to get it all back together the first time. It would be super easy to take those springs out and just snip about 10-15% of them off one end of each spring. The trick would be to snip only one complete rung off at a time and put it back together each time until it was just right. There would still need to be tension on the seal though, so snipping too much off would prob mean buying a whole new cap assembly just to get new springs.
