Gas pains
I guess BMP has listened. Back in Jan, when my RT started acting up at 8,000 miles, the dealer could get nowhere with the warranty people. After a month of screwing around, they gave me a new canister. It didn't do any good, because the pump had quit due to all the overflowing of the canister. My garage smelled like a 10,000 gallon tanker (on the inside.) Another month of screwing around and BMP finally sent the pump, which of course did little except pump the new canister dry all the time. More time passes and BMP send a second canister. It did nothing, for what ever reason. Fumes, vapors, lots of droppings everywhere I went. Finally did a canisterectamy, including the hose, which was already extended to the swing arm to keep the mess away from the cat thing and the muffler pipes. Amazingly enough, it only acts up and does actual dropping of fuel occassionally. It smells some, but I've grown use to leaving the door open for hours and run a big industrial fan 24 hours a day - for 9 months now. Garage smells some, but I guess it's as far as BMP is ever going to go by saying "don't fill it up to the top." I've never done that, due to postings on this site. guess I'm just one of the unlucky guys that has a continuing problem. My garage floor is nice and clean where gas has dripped since January.
Glad they got you going quickly. I had one call in April from BMP and haven't heard since. This is also the only real bitch I've had about the Spyder. I really like it and have 22,300 or so on it in 13 months and haven't even been more than 300 miles from home. Looking forward to a Key West trip in Jan with a bunch of dudes I've done the trip with, until the "monetary crisis" made it impossible for several to do the ride. Gonna see how many we get for the second week of Jan, of the 17 who made the last trip. The guy with an "amplifier, or whatever" in his Yourmamma's muffler can't go. Even making him go last for a week gave everyone a headache.
