• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas Additive

Winter is fast approaching, should I add anything to the gas while it sits ?
Depends on how long you're going to let it sit but the answer is probably an emphatic YES!

I would highly recommend getting the tank filled with a non-Ethanol fuel if you've got a vendor in the area. Most places you can find one. That will make a big difference in itself.

Whether or not you do the Non-Ethanol thing, use Stabil or some other good fuel stabilizer. You need to run the motor with this stabilizer in it enough so that it's throughout the fuel system.

ck out STARTRON on the web, I use in my Spydy and both of my outboards(115hp and 25hp) both 4 stroke. Startron is all the rage in the marine industry--I use it in all my engines, tractors, lawn mower, etc.
Good Luck

I'm a big fan of Sea Foam

I can see adding 3-4 onces (sp) of Sea Foam to the tank between each winter ride (7-10 Days) would be a good practise to get into along with adding a few onces the ride before I change the oil!!! Learn something New every day at Spyderlovers!!!

Use a good fuel stabilizer like Stabil or Seafoam, and fill the gas tank to prevent water condensation from the cold air. I'd also put the Spyder on a battery tender. There is a more complete winter storage procedure in your manual...but it is a bit overkill, IMO.

I believe that StarTron used to be better at dealing with the Ethanol mixes, but now Sta-Bil has a formula that's also up to the task.
I didn't know that Seafoam was also a stabilizer... :opps:

I'm an IBM engineer and I love to research the bejeezus out of everything I use. It's a blessing and a curse as Monk used to say. Anyway I researched gas stabilizing additives for weeks and the ultimate winner was Star Tron.

If you want the details just say the word.

If Sea Foam is good enough for Lamont...it's surely good enough for me!! I'm getting some today! Thanks...
