Garmin Nuvi 500 Mount

Is this part the correct mount for the back of the Garmin Nuvi 500?



I'm trying to help a guy mount his Garmin Nuvi 500 and he is not computer savvy at all so I'm trying to figure out what he needs... and he lives about 100 miles away so I can't look at his Garmin.

I have the Garmin Nuvi 550, which is the same as the 500.
Went to the Ram Mount site.
He needs the cradle for his GPS - RAP-HOL-GA32U
mount for cradle -- RAP-B-378-238U

If the ball you pictured is 1 inch, its right.
The RAM cradle for the back of his GPS has a diamond shape for the ball mount part which screws into that diamond.
The one you pictured would work for flush mount on the bike.

I think this is what you were looking for.

Thanks, so then the RAM-HOL-GA32U and the RAM-B-238U and the RAM-B-201U-A (which I stock) will mate up to the "B" ball on my dash mount.


Is the Garmin Nuvi 500 series popular enough for me to stock the mount and triangle ball?

To be honest with ya, you might not want to.
You can still buy the 500 on web sites but I think Garmin has replaced it with the 600 series,
which has been restyled.
I might stock a few of the balls and the different length mounts that attach to the balls.
Those would all be the same for all the different RAM cradles.
