Here is a cool item that I just found out about....and they are a local company to me.

It uses your high beam to open your garage door and they do have a kit for the spyder

I have the Flash T Pass installed on my BMW K1200LT. It works great. All I have to do is pull up to the garage, flash my high beams and the door opens. I plan on installing one on my Ltd when it arrives.

The benefit to the momentary button approach is that the total cost for me was about $40. $35 or so of which was the opener itself.

I wired mine directly to the momentary light switch on the right handle bar cluster. Ran the wire along the rest of the wires and mounted the remote behind the speedo cluster - lots of room back there.

And you dont even have to take your hands off the throttle! zoom right in

The momentray light was disabled to do this but the opener is much more useful than a momentary light!
