• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Funny reaction at a fuel stop

I got a better one for you.....

I went to the grocery store the other day and as i'm walking out a guy was sitting on my :spyder2: and some chick was talking to him. So i slowed down to just see what was going on. As i walked closer the guy looked ant me and just said "what's up" and nodded his head. I just stood there. He looked at me again and said "pretty cool huh", and i just responded "yeah, it's a nice ride". So he keeps hitting on this girl and talking it up as i just stood there. He finally turns to me again and say's "What the F:cus: do you want?". So at that point i was laughing inside and told him "for you to get your cheap, monkey looking, shower needing nasty @ss of my spyder so i can go home". the girl slapped him and went on her way and so did he with his head down.

HAHA :firstplace:

Not only that but i can't tell you how many times i have had someone hit on me just riding around. One lady, early 40's and beautiful in LA just a few weeks ago before our wed night ride. She was in the opposite lane sitting at a light asked me "what would it take for me to get on the back of that with you?" I just smiled and the light turned green...... THE END!!!!

Motorcycle Cop reaction

Had another funny thing happen while riding my RT today, I am pulling out at a red light and a city motorcycle Cop is coming the other direction, he checks me out and throws a low hand wave as he goes by. I have ridden bikes many many years and this was a first.

My wife and I were out on the RT recently riding the country lanes of Shropshire and we came across a broken down car about to be winched onto a breakdown truck. The elderly couple who owned the car were looking on with their backs to us. As we approached they turned to see who or what we were and they both broke out in spontaneous smiles and waved in greeting as we passed by. We waved back and felt as though we had suddenly made two new friends. :D:D

Their happy reaction at seeing our Spyder was extraordinary. It could only have been the Spyder's feel-good factor at work because we've never had such a pleasurable reaction from anybody when riding around on any of the BeeEmm's we've owned during the past 40 years!

Harley vs Spyder

i was traveling from Oklahoma to California. I stopped in Taos New Mexico. An elderly man riding some kind of Harley parked next to me. He was really curious about the Spyder. He proceeded to tell me how fast and great his Harley was. He thought my 990 was wimpy to his ??cc. "He really had to have something fast. He told me his speedometer had 140 on it. My wife said, "wow, is that all? The Spyder has 200 on the speedometer." The older guy's response, "wow, i got to get one of these."

Spyder ruled this conversation
:congrats:

Had a car load of 20 somethings pull up beside us the other day a a red light. The driver asks "how fast does that thing go". I said "fast enough to outrun you". He laughed and said "nice ride young man". :hun: Guess my gray beard and white hair didn't show too well.

I love to talk to people about my Spyder RT...!!! Every time I gas up someone comes over to ask about my ride... I started to carry business cards for Ask Powersports because some times giving them a card is the only way to politely leave them. People use to ask my husband about his very cool dressed out Yamaha Venture... now I get all the attention and he gets ignored.... OOPS :roflblack: Guess maybe he will have to get a Spyder too... :dontknow:

It's crazy how many times i find people sitting on it. I don't mind them checking it out and i'm always answering questions but don't touch what isn't yours. I'm still trying to find an alarm that barks when people get too close...:roflblack:

I had the same problems (as almost everybody else who rides a Spyder...), until I installed a Scorpio SR-i800 alarm with a perimeter sensor that starts chirping and then sounding louder as people gets nearer, until it blows into a full alarm ear piercing sound that usually deters them from getting any closer... :D

First long trip

My wife and I picked up our Spyder RT Limited last Thursday in Birmingham, AL. We rode around town Friday and then Saturday morning headed to Baton Rouge, LA for the 4th. The entire trip people were waving and were giving us :2thumbs:. But the most fun we had was in a small town just south of Laurel, MS. It had started to rain and we pulled off I-59 at a gas station to put on our rain gear as we were leaving a cop pulls in and flashes his blue lights at us. We stopped and proceeded to talk for 1/2 hour. I think this town had maybe 4 cops and in a short time they all showed up. They were taking photos and even took my camera and shot a photo for us.
If you are going to ride a :spyder2:you will have to be prepared to be a rockstar.

Alien Attack!

My wife and I were traveling down the New Jersey Turnpike about 10 days ago on our Spyder RT-LE with trailer. As we pulled up to the toll booth, the lady attendant stuck her head out the window and yelled, "Oh My God! I thought the aliens were coming to take me away!":roflblack:

:gaah:

im 20 something and i think my spyder IS bad AZZ period but i normally get the "get a real bike" looks from most other riders in my age bracket and plenty of questions from others who dont seem to ride or ride something other than a repli racer. but reactions at drive thru are always fun

We still can't forget, when the Marians landed at Grover's Mill.:yikes:

I'm in my 20 something and who cares if you get a look from the other MC's that your should "get a real" bike. The spyder gets all the real attention.

Illuzion i could care less about the looks they are what they are but thats more what i get from them than "oh man i wish i had that new yamazukikawonda CBRSX100000RR"

although the best question i got was from a HD triker "why did you get a silly trike?" as he suited up for his iron steed
my dumb response was "why didnt you get a better trike?" which yes i know we all have things we like but i felt reactive that day... it happens
no knock on the HD trike at all dont read me wrong it does what it does well ive been told
