There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Funny reaction at a fuel stop

I was in Oglesby IL getting fuel when I hear this young man say "man that thing is Bad Azz", he said that a few times as he walked around the RT. Then he tells me the same thing, I said "thanks". He then asked if it was fast and I said "not really", he then said it's still "Bad Azz". :D

I thought it was kind of funny and cool that this young man was so enamored with the RT. It's even getting the 20 something kids fired up. :doorag:

Had you shown him that the speedometer reads to "200" he probably would have considered you a God... or an alien! :yikes: :D

We had a funny reaction on our bike one night when we were riding home...two truckers were discussing our bike over their CB's (you know, the "boy, look at this weird looking motorcycle" kind of comments)...I was biting my lip trying not to bust out laughing while they talked about us...not that they would have heard me...after about ten minutes of this type of chatter, Erags finally talked on our CB to them. That got a "who was that talking?" comment...followed by a "who woulda thought a motorcycle would have a CB!" He told them it was the guy on the weird looking bike that had just passed them. The rest of our ride home ended up being a conversation with them about speed, cost, etc...anything Spyder related. It was difficult to stay on the bike when one of them opined "that's about the cost of a double wide in Kentucky!" Gotta admit, our Spyder generates a lot of comments wherever we go.

cost of a double wide LOL HA HA I needed that laugh today thanks ! I get weird looks from EVERYONE when im riding it really causes a stir

Everytime I stopped for gas and almost everytime we stopped for food, I would have someone come up to me and ask about the RT. The attention is kind of fun, but there are those times when people expect you to chat that are just not practical or even safe. Still amazed after all the commercials BRP has run by the attention the Spyder gets and some of the questions people ask. I often have to correct people who are under the misconception that the front wheels are driven and the back wheel does the steering. Not sure where this idea comes from, but I've had people ask on numerous occasions. I actually handed out a number of the little PR cards BRP sent me when I was in the Maggie Valley area.

I am in my mid 30's now...I do have RS vs RT but I think both machines are bad azz. I have had quite a few 20 something come up and ask a ton of questions...mostly, I have never seen anything with 2 wheels upfront :spyder2:

My parents have friends in Ukraine...when he told them about the bike, they were amazed because they have the latest vehicles/bikes in Europe these days but not Spyder yet....they got money so its just a matter of time!!

You sure the young man was not referring to you? :dontknow:

Where you wearing your "Colors" at the time??:roflblack::doorag:

Did you recruit him,, We need young blood:yes:

Jim:thumbup:

Have fun at school Bro try to stay awake, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Attention getting

I was on my RT and this kid with a early "90's" honda civic with the coffee can muffler is coming up on me on my right ( was in the passing lane doing 50 mph) this kid is driving with his knees and has his Iphone taking my picture! A mile up the road at a redlight he holds up traffic to ask me what it is, is it fast and to rev it up so he can listen to it. this kid had to be in his early 20's.

I have kinda the same problem that the rest of Spyder owners have. I ride with my friends and they ride Harley's. Every time we stop for gas or food they get pissed at me because about the time to leave there is usually some one running over with a bunch of questions which stalls our leaving. Go figure!
I guess they will have to get use to it for a while or not let me tag along with them. :dontknow:

Interesting enough...when we stop for fuel...most guys go talk to my husband, hg....and he answers all the questions...very few men will come up to me and talk....but since I put the pink flames on the spyder....girls of all ages come and talk to me...I love the 75 year old women who say"I could ride one of those"

I've pulled into the parking lots of restaurants and the patrons come running out and watch as I back into the parking spot...then all the questions start...and while I'm in the place eating...ppl wait for me to come out!!! It draws an amazing amount of attention, sometimes in an unsafe way like when they try to get a better look while driving on the freeway at 70mph...

This was a couple of years ago, It was about 3am when I pulled off the freeway in Tracy CA for gas when a patrol car pulls up behind me at the gas pump. Out steps the BIGGEST CHP I've ever seen. (I'm 5'9") He had to be 6"10", minimum. He slowly walks up to me, takes a good look at the Spyder, then looks down at me and as "how fast I have you gone on this thing?". I sheepish look up at him and say "65 to 70". He looks down at me again and says "No, really?". I said "maybe 115 mph". Shakes his head in approval and tell to to ride safe.

We just rode to San Antonio and are staying at a 5 star resort -- only non-four wheel vehicle here. Getting lots of positive comments.:2thumbs:

On the drive down I couldn't get away from the gas pumps for being surrounded by folks with question after question. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to take a break after 120 miles.:spyder: Plus, lots of folks taking pictures as they drive by on the interstate. :spyder2:

The whole Rock Star thing can be either a blessing or a curse. It's nice to be noticed and get a chance to answer some questions in order to spread some good information about them, but it can also get tiring if you're trying to get somewhere and people just want to keep talking... and talking... and...
So we tie our smiles on "extra tight" and try to leave extra time in the bank for these opportunities! :D

we get questions/comments all of the time now, but the best one had to be....My wifes 82 yr old grandmother who told us to "be careful on whatever that thing is" during a phone conversation about us getting ready to go out for a ride. :roflblack:
Now everytime we are leaving the house one of us usally asks "are we taking whatever that thing is or the car?"
And yes she knows we laugh about this often...she actually likes the looks of it and says if she was 20 years younger she would be willing to let me take her for a ride.

My mother-in-law was 87 when I took her for a ride on our RT. She was a little apprehensive at first but after we took the first corner and she didn't fall off, she enjoyed the rest of the ride. We rode about 30 miles and, being a farmer's wife, she enjoyed looking at the crops and commented about how nice it was to be able to see everything and be out in the air. She had my wife to take a picture of us because she said her friends would never believe that she rode on "that thing". Looking forward to her next visit so we can do it again.

It's great that she enjoyed it so much :2thumbs: Being "out in the air" has always been one of the greatest lures of motorcycling. :D
