• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone every heard of or used a Fitch Fuel Catalyst. Here is a link http://www.fitchcatalyst.com/recreational_vehicles.php

This is what it says it can do just drop it into fuel tank, good for 250,000 miles.

In the FAQ on their web site this is what they say it is.

"A metal alloy composed by a proprietary process that permanently transforms hydrocarbon fuels to a superior quality fuel than what is purchased from a gas station."

Sounds good and there are lots of reviews from different magazines.

Do they sell perpetual motion machines, too? ...or those little capsules that turn water into gasoline? Sorry, count me as skeptical.

Sounds like snake oil to me. Expensive snake oil at that...

Caveat emptor my man, caveat emptor....

That's been around many years, JC Whitney sold a ton of them in the 70's:dontknow: Along with a bunch of other fuel saving gimmicks, Do they work, ''Yes'' for the people selling them....

1. More MPG.. NO. 2. How? 3. No. 4. Doubtful. 5. Absolutely not. No way, no how. 6. No. Only higher octane, IF YOU NEED IT will do this. 7. So it's an octane booster too? For every tank, every gallon of fuel for 250,000 miles? 8. Baloney. 9. Should say "can be used in 2&4 stroke engines". I'm happy we cleared this up. It's snake oil. Save your money for another ride and a cup of Joe.

Sounds great...........

I have no idea what is in Fitch's elixir.

A common ingredient in some of the magic stuff is xylol.
I once say a single cylinder Briggs & Stratton start and run on a 50-50 mixture of xylol and water.

Of course xylol is way more expensive than gasoline but I suspect that it is somehow connected to all those stories about turning water into gas.

This product is probably like most things, if it doesn't do any harm and you want to spend the money why not tr it?

Is Xylol anything like xylene? We used to clean the natural gas pipeline with diesel and xylene mixture.

JC Whitney

I remember some of those fuel saving gimmicks. :roflblack: Do you remember the water injection system? It would spray water into the carburetor to provide better mileage. :lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie:

Anything that sounds too good to be true is... right up there with all the other scams like hydrogen generators for your car :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: and this reminds me of some quotes

“There's a sucker born every minute.”

Yea, i remember the water injection and the screens you installed under the carburator, they all claimed big mpg's.

I think Xylene is a tradename for Xylol
It's some strong stuff. I worked for a pipeline company, and the gas coming in from the gulf of mexico was some pretty dirty stuff, xylene and diesel was what we used to pig through the lines to clean them. Worked really well.

Well if it's good enough to be used to clean out a crude-oil pipeline; it's just GOT to be more than good enough for my most treasured possession! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Seeing that it will be bouncing around the inside of a gas tank where the fuel pump also lives, It Might cause some problems.....:dontknow:
