fuel tank

I want to wrap the fuel tank to reduce the heat on the fuel.
what has anybody used?
Any tips for removing the tank?
somebody told me about a liquid thermal barrier don't remember what it's called.
Any suggestions on the type of insulation I should use?
If it's possible I would rather have a thermal barrier than an insulation.

I had put some radiant barrier (The kind for the attic) around the tank and on the panels but the glue is not holding.
What should I be looking for?
I see all types of materials, not sure which one.
will a 24" X 24" be big enough?
I want to completely encase the tank

anybody familiar with something like this and would it work on the exhaust or fuel tank

...............Well if your Spyder catches FIRE :gaah I hope not ) the flame proof paint might protect it from the outside :roflblack:................Just joking here......You want a THERMAL BARRIER ...to keep heat away from what you put the barrier on ....to keep the Gas cooler ,correct.????.................Then a Flame Proof Paint is not what you want .....................justsayin........Mike :thumbup:......check my earlier suggestion....or not ....whatever

It seems to be staying put. There may be better insulators but no easy way to apply them.

That's exactly the same kind of stuff I used. I completely covered the underside of the two top side panels and the two top lateral panels under the seat. I also put a good bit of it around the fuel tank, though I did not wrap the entire tank. I didn't want anything thicker than this reflective heat tape, because there's already a lack of space in that compartment for air to flow. I also made "heat shields" for certain Strategic open areas and gaps by sticking the tape back to back, then taping it in place. In addition, I wrapped the complete length of both exhaust headers with the exhaust tape, and did the same with the cat bypass pipe when I took the catalytic converter out. (Both are very close to the fuel tank.)

I'm thinking of ceramic coating the pipes and I'm getting ready to remove the cat.
I'm going to pull the tank and completely wrap it. Based on when I installed the check valve in the vent line, I know that the fuel is boiling.
I have already replaced the air filter with JT's air filter and that made a big difference with the heat.
