• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fuel regulation

So I have a spyder1attitude duel exhaust with a custom baffle ( from Spyder1attitude to reduce the noise level) on my 2010 RS SM5.
Now with or with out the baffle it runs extremely rough at lower rpm and at launch with the new free flowing exhaust but incredibly elastic and smooth above 4500 rpm.
I have not changed the air filter.
I have read the posts regarding the power commander and the juice box, I am a bit confused, but would one of these units help with the low end back firing, rough idle, from what I guess is the leaning out of the fuel air mixture.
thanks

I have a power commanderV on my 13 Rt with a Yoshimere exhaust ,Cat Delete and Kewl Metal intake and it runs great except at idle It has no control over the Idle. It does not like stop and go traffic, always feels like it is going to die. I do think that it is faster than my wife's 14 rt 1300 for maybe an 1/8 mile, after that it may be close.

Are you sure its running rougher, or does it just "sound" like its running rougher. How long has the exhaust been on the bike? Did you disco the battery when you did the exhaust to reset everything?

The best way to know if it's running lean is to install an afr gauge. Other than that it's a guess.

I did not disconnect the battery, and it sometimes seems like it wants to die if I give it too much gas at low rpm's, like it wants to stall.
I had it on for a few days initially with out baffles, rough at launch and at low rpm's, woke everybody up, lol, then even with the addition of the baffles, still not smooth. It's not just the sound, the stock set up is perfect when operating at low rpm's, and the new exhaust is far superior once you are up and running, but a bear to launch from a stop and during acceleration.

Is it where you have to clear it out after idling from sitting at a stop light? Or is it every time you stop even for very short periods...Low rpm's all the time?

So hard to diagnose over the Web without knowing afr.... just off idle is always the hardest area to tune. Lean and rich conditions at just off idle are almost identical feelings.
The spyder does run rich stock at idle.
Usually your lean if it dies at those off idle sputter conditions.
Usually your rich if it clears itself at those off idle sputter conditions.

The stock exhaust is pure magic when it comes to masking "sputter". Many times it can be there, but because you don't hear it, you don't realize it.

It happens every time I stop and or at low rpm's, sputter is a good description, as if it wants to die.

Don't know man...would really need to see some actual afr numbers to give some good advice.

First thought is lean cause of the exhaust, but I've seen some that stay rich off idle too.
Most people here are going to tell you to spend the money on a power commander and auto tune.
Personally, I've just never been into throwing money at tuning and not really knowing exactly what's going on.....

Thanks

Just a thought! The vac lines from the map sensor to the throttle body if cracked will give you that set of symptoms.
