• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Fuel or ignition issue?

2010 RT: Dealer said it's had all of the updates. (we bought it early this spring) We came home yesterday from a great 850 mile loop of WI and the U.P of MI. The bike did great with the exception of a couple times it ran rough, almost as if it starved for fuel or air, or was "missing". Each time it was about 3/4 tank after a fill-up at an "off-the-beaten-path" gas station. I opted to buy the cheaper fuel at each stop because I figured it would be the freshest (since people tend to buy what's cheapest). I did change the plugs and wires, and the air filter earlier this summer. So I'm wondering if the throttle body is causing issues, if I have an ignition issue, or if it's as simple as lousy gas. The first time it acted up I topped off with premium and added a fuel treatment as well. It did certainly help the issue. Thoughts, ideas??? I currently have about 3/4 tank of what I THINK might be questionable gas. I'll try the fuel treatment again and see what happens I guess.

I would suspect funky gas. Used to live in N. WI and did a lot of driving in the UP. Lots of funky places to buy gas.

Try some Seafoam in your current tank. Fill up with premium when almost empty. Give it another hundred miles or so--you will have the answer.

Might be a cheaper solution than to have the dealer start playing with the high priced parts.

Hope the easy solution is your answer.

It might even be those two vacuum hoses that tend to rot...
They're about 3" long, and hook to the throttle bodies on (I think!) the left side of the bike...
If they're starting to crack; it's time to replace them. nojoke

All of the above...

:agree: with the learned gentlemen above. I use seafoam every few tanks regardless of the gas. The hoses are a problem (see finless threads) here's what I found though no issues yet...

The fall "leaf" rides were something I looked forward to each year.

SMALL HOSES

If you decide to replace those 2 small hoses, go with silicone hoses. Probably $2 more, but no worries after that.

I don't know the last time the fuel filter was changed. I'll have to hunt for it and get it changed. Does someone know the I.D. of the hoses mentioned, and roughly how long they are?

Thanks

The fuel filter on my 2012 is on the left side under the side panel. The hoses are a small diameter and maybe 3 inches long, best to pull one and take it with you to the parts store. They are on the right side under the black acoustic panel.

Just thought I'd throw a "thank you" out to those who mentioned the vac lines. I swapped them out yesterday and did find some wear on both of them. Took a test ride today after work and the bike certainly performs better. My sputtering issues seemed to be resolved. (For now anyway) LOL Probably a couple nice weeks left then it might come to a screaching halt. Once the first spreading of road salt goes down, the bike gets parked. These clowns LOVE their road salt :banghead:
