Fuel Door Mod

Just before launching to Spyderfest I got my InspectorGadget Fuel Door mod installed on my stock seat.. 25 refueling stops during the week without having unload my extra baggage and lift the seat. It cost me $80 plus two way shipping for my seat. Seemed like a pretty good deal to me and with my utopia back rest it makes my stock seat package perfect for me.

I had my local seat person do this about 4 months ago. I have never lifted the seat on my spider since I bought it as this was done prior to my pick up. I had him attach a small strap, but have never used it and just tuck it inside. Great mod!!!!

I am in favor of voting that a fuel door become a standard feature. After you have had one (Corbin), you will not want to go back.

Where are you geting the matching material from?

I agree, this should be the standard design, but all of the motorcycles I've had in the last 20 years had some kind of arrangement that forced you to turn the bike off before fuelling up.
Most often the key was required to open a door that housed the fuel cap, or the fuel cap required a key to open.
Sure you could get around that with a second key, but you were deliberately disabling the factory safeguard.
It must be a liability issue.
