• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Frunk opening up.

I don't know if this is normal, or something wrong with my Spyder. The other day I unlocked my handle bars, and opened the frunk (pushed down key, and turned to the left) only to realize after it opened that I had the key in the on position. Then to see if it would do it again I started the motor, and was again able to open the frunk with the key. Is this normal, and will it damage anything if I continue to open it this way? I normally use the open button on the center console when the motor is on. I have a 2012 RT SE5.

That is normal (for 2011 and newer Spyders)...it is just undocumented. You can do the same with the seat.

This is just an observation but here in colorado it tells you to turn off your motor and all electrical devices when filling up with gas also is it that hard to start your spyder :dontknow: ride safe and enjoy every mile. :ani29: ;)

Not all Spyders

It does not work on all Spyders. On my 09 GS you had to turn the ignition off to operate the trunk and seat release.

Sure would be nice to be able to open the hood without turning off the motor. I'll have to test this

I can only open the frunk with the switch only if the motor is running. Otherwise I have to use the key, pushing it down to open the frunk. I have the 2010 A&C model.

Here in California they have signs that say "turn off motor" and "do not use cell phone", but you would be amazed in how many :cus: will still talk on their phone while pumping the gas.

When I tell them to hang up they look at me like I am nuts. Reminds me of when I was 16 and worked in a full serve gas station. The owners son would put his cigarette on top of the pump while pumping the gas. He too looked at me like I was nuts when I said something, and was even more surprised when I quit because his Dad did nothing about it.

Thank you, so now I can get gas without turning off the bike :yes::yes:

(not that I would do that)
Of course not, but you CAN use the engine kill-switch, then leave the key ON while you gas up. That way, you can still observe the trip-odometers, reset one, write the mileage on your receipt, etc., without having to remember these things when you restart the engine to pull away. It's kinda handy...

Still not a good idea where the rules say "Turn off all electric... etc."
