• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Frunk nose chip.

Well I picked up my new Spyder Saturday the 25 in Chicago and rode it home to Michigan.

Unfortunately I noticed that when I got it home I had somehow picked up a NASTY chip in the paint on the front point of the frunk. No idea when or where.

I found that the dealer does not sell matching paint, and our local supply house can't match the PPG paint code I have. I had some chrome car wrap material and my awesome son-in-law who is a body man took about 10 min to make it all go away.

Because of the lighting in the garage you cant tell it is chrome in that photo, but it looks great.

Now I am happy to leave it until I can get a paint match somewhere and get it repaired.

Any info on where to get matching paint would be greatly appreciated.

Looks Good

Almost looks as if the paint rubbed off due to shipping material. Never know for sure but the fix looks really nice.

nice fix! I'm going to get clear bra for front of mine. Or spray bed liner

I didn't know they made a clear one, where can I see that? Does it mess up or scuff the paint over time because of wind vibration?

HOLY SMOLY

Forget the touch-up paint.......your idea looks way better.....My paint is fine but I think I like your thing better .....what is it called and where can you get it !!!!!  .................Plus if you happen to ding that thing you can always get another one to replace it at far less cost..................Mike

Well done..!!

looks great just the way you fixed it. Touch ups don't always come out so well. Color matches but you need the clear coat as well...or do what I did....

It is chrome car wrap vinyl made with 3m adhesive. I picked up an 18" x 24" section at a local sign shop for $8.00. It is also available on ebay.
The strip he cut and placed on is about 3/4" wide and 2" short of overall length of the frunk. You can stick it on and remove it several time to get it positioned where you want it as long as you don't press it down too hard. One it is pressed into place with a squeegee it wont come back off without a heat gun.

He did an awesome job!!

NICE trim piece you did! Heck I think that should be a farkle!
I want one as I am tired of touching up the paint in that edge of the frunk lid!

Good job mate :clap::clap::clap:
