• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Frunk and saddle. Switch will not operate frunk or saddle

Pulled onto a gas station this am and switch would not operate frunk or saddle. Pushing down and turning the key there is no resistance. I have read on here about this happening with the frunk but never both
Anyone else have this problem and how was it corrected. I am probably 1500 miles from home. Can live without them working as I have an ultimate seat with the gas door

Frunk

Never had both, but the other day apparently had something jammed in the frunk. After pushing down several times I managed to get it open. Sounds like the cable on the switch came off or broke. Glad you have the gas door!

It's Monday, could be one of those days, but it sounds really unusual that both systems would be faulty simultaneously.

Finless Bob has a video that shows how to get into the frunk if the key wont work:

This might help you out.

Frunk Solution?

I had this problem occasionally on my 2010. I would turn the key and pry it open at the same time. Originally kept a pry bar for emergencies, moved to a hammer with pry end because it was easier to carry.

Don't have the problem with my 2016.

YMMV, good luck!

Thanks

Thanks to all. Got the frunk open with a coat hanger. You can also pull on the lever where the cable is attached. Seat still is inoperative. Will give to a dealer when I get back to florida

Only once....

Ignition switch mechanism was the issue. Can't remember the fix just know the key would turn both ways but did not pull the cables to operate the frunk and seat latches...
