• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. OK soooo I have a 2015 RT-S with a Spyderpopps lighted bump skid installed. I am trying to remove the frunk and I have watched a number of U-Tubes on older models,ie: '12 and '13. I also have a CD with 2015 - 16 service Manual. I have removed the 2 bottom 10mm bolts and the 4 upper bolts and the most rear torx screws on the top side panels (the one around fog lights) I even disconnected the air intake connection and the frunk latch cable, switch, and budds plug. It still wont budge.

Check for two screws attached with a locknut holding the very rear of the bumpskid to a support on the RT.

HAVE YOU DONE THIS

Sounds good to me ... the video's don't show that the FRUNK is NOT supported by ANY of those bolts .... On the upper frame there are TWO large clips that the frunk ACTUALLY hangs on ... that is the Total support for the Frunk ....those bolts just keep the frunk from popping off the hanger/clips etc. make sure ALL your wire connections are dis-connected also ....then you lift it off the clips ..... it's a good idea to have something at the right height in front of the Spyder so you can put it down to rest if you need to ........... PS when you put it back on ..if you turn the elbow you won't have to re-connect the Air Intake .... it a paine in the *ss to do it and it's not necessary ... mine has been gone for a few years now ( the entire plastic Air intake ) the Spyder can breath better without it .... good luck ....Mike

is anyone else using mikes air intake suggestion? it is right over the front tire.
what about any water ingestion?
on a related subject , if you dont connect the elbow, you wont need the
snorkel. then you can easily replace fog lamp bulbs ? yes , no? is the
ambient air sensor on that snorkel? just another stupid ? to people who have
tried most everything.

On our 2013, I used a furniture moving dolly from Harbor Freight, it is about 1/4 to 1/2 higher than needed so when the frunk was loose, I lifted up on the front, slide the dolly under and the frunk came off without any major lifting, putting it back on was just as easy, that way I could move it around and around without causing any issues. I believe those dollys are less than 20 bucks.

AIR INTAKE - ELBOW - WATER

#1.... That tire is quite aways from where a re-positioned ELBOW would be facing !!!.... #2. If you are going to just use the elbow for air intake, I would just cut the plastic intake off as close to the front of the spyder as you can.... I took the entire unit out and that was a complicated job, I wanted to see Exactly how much Air was coming in ...IT ISN'T MUCH :yikes:...... #3... Water - I have an 8 in long X 3in.dia. straight pipe into my Air box and it comes directly out the left side panel with a 3in fan in it ...... I drilled a 1/4in hole in the lower front corner of the OEM air box just in case any water got in, it would drain. In subsequent Frunk removals ( 20 or so ) I have never seen any evidence that water ever came out of that hole ....... hope this helps .... Mike

Thank you all

Thank you Gunner,
You hit the nail on the head. last 2 screws in the Bumpskid was the hold up. That let me move the frunk far enough forward off the bike to run the wires down to the battery. Being a lighted bumpskid I did not want to disconnect their wires so did not move frunk too far.
