Front tire replacement schedule

We have a 2011 RT Limited with roughly 30,000 miles. We still have the original front tires and they still look like they have enough tread. Is there a recommended replacement mileage when these should be replaced? We did replace the rear tire at 25,000.

Thanks

You are way ahead of the curve. Most are lucky to get 15K to 25K. My best is 22K for a set of fronts. If the tires still have good tread, I would not replace them. Bald and thin spots--time to replace.

Schedule? :dontknow: Just replace them when YOU figure that the tread is worn enough to start compromising safety...

Little checking..!!

there are wear limits on the tires that give you a clue.

find that triangle across the top will be the wear block..

see where your at. I have 27,000 and still have tread left. Everyone will wear their tires out differently...

RE: Tire thread

Hi,

13' RT, 6700 miles, will need rear tire soon, maybe now.
Air pressure was checked often.
I'm not in the habit of doing burn-outs (but maybe someone at my dealership is).
10' RS-S 1st rear lasted to 16k.
Why does BRP still use these crappy tires?

Also check for any cracking in the sidewall. They do dry out with time. Tom :spyder:

Thank you for posting this and please excuse my ignorance.

How do you read the wear bars? Do the triangles point to the tread wear bars and should I replace the tire when the wear bars are even with the top of the tread?

Thanks
Rod

The wear bar is where the triangle is and when the wear bar contacts the road time to replace. But me I would do it a bit sooner around 4/32.Or if the tire is older .

Yes and close...

As in the pictures...the triangle indicates which bar on the tread is a wear bar. The others serve a different purpose and get even with the tread much sooner. As that bar gets closer to the tread you suld consider changing the tire. Once it is even with the tread your at the limit...we are in a dry (not much rain) area and I will go to the limit but in wetter areas I would change the tire a bit sooner...

Went through 3 rears tires to a little over 16k. Went to Kumho and have 23k and about 45% tread left. 23k on front Kenda's
getting new tires Thursday.

If your Spyder, from looking at model year, is 4+ years old, I would replace them. From my experience, the rubber is drying up and what threads you see, you have lost the safety factors for yourself. Your well being is not worth the few more miles you might get out of them. Of course, that's just my precautionary opinion and it's given freely.
