• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fox adjustable shocks for 2013 / 2014 RT's now available

I have not read the entire thread

Other than him saying I'd probably save about $300 on the Fox's from BRP rather than going with Elkas, no. So my guess is some where around $500, but that's only a guess on my part.

but $500 is correct.

$500 for the Fox shocks. :yikes: How much do the Elka's run? :dontknow: Tom :trike:

Depending on if you want damping adjustment or not - $600 to $800

BUT, I can't find a PN on their site for 2014 RT's. :gaah: I'll have to give them a call Monday

On Elka's site $2,800 for fronts & rear. Top of the line, fully adjustable. OUCH!! Then you have to pay for the install. Big Bucks, but by all accounts it is the way to go with the BajaRon swaybar & links with a Laser alinement.

BTW, the :ani29: Tech at my dealer - who knows everything - did not know if the Fox shocks on the 2014 RT LTD will fit a 2.013 RT LTD. He says that there were changes to the A arms on the '14, and he is not sure that they will fit a '13. Said he would look into it and get back to me. If he does, I will let ya'll know.

I see no reason to change out the rear. Mine is a Limited with the air adjustable rear and it seems to be working just fine. I'm thinking 1+R's on the front and they show up at $749. The Fox's are not rebound adjustable and the Elka's are. If you go with the non-rebound adjustable Elka then it down to $595. The only problem is that I can't find the 2014 RT's listed on the Elka site. As far as paying for the install, you have to do that no matter what you change out to.

Yes the 2013 IS the 2014 - 1330. Elkas= $1k. I was told by Ron the Fox shocks will do just fine no need to pay extra $$$ for Elkas.

Well, it'll be news to the BRP rep if they don't fit :roflblack: He personally showed me his "driver" 2013 with the Fox shocks installed on it at Americade.

Just to let everyone know that these spyder Fox shocks are not their typical Fox shocks. BRP had asked them and Elka to do the shocks but they wanted them very cheap....and of course Fox won this but you get what you pay for. I know in the ATV, Motorcycle and Snowmobile world they do the same thing. I am sold on Elka as they are far superior. Just hold one of each brand and you will see the quality differences.

Thannks for posting the part number

Ok here we go, finally some solid info. My dealer quoted me $500 for the kit (plus installation) and the kit PN is 219400588

Thanks for posting the part number. I will have to add them to my bike in the near future.

Exactly. There are a few different levels of some suspension items such as shocks. A FOX decal does not mean it is a the higher quality aftermarket stuff, if they even offer it for a Spyder. I have worked on Ohlins production forks and they are not close to the higher dollar aftermarket items.

The price difference between two emulsion shocks, one with no rebound clicker and one with rebound is often worth the money.

If Elka was still offering high end shocks, greater than a 1+R for the Spyder that's what we would be rolling. Maybe they will reconsider.
