• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For those who remember Roger and Scotty....

Here is a post from Roger (spydercodes) about a visit to see Scotty (Nancys toy) Both are missed here.

Living inside your helmet.
I think every Spyderfolk should take a trip far enough away from home so you have to stay overnight.
It shows you these conveyances are reliable and amazingly fun to pilot over a long ryde.
MrFats and I have just concluded a trip to say hi to fellow Spyderfolk Scotty and Nancy.
For those of you who don't know, Scotty and Nancy are founding members of the Spyder community.
Scotty, armed with a couple of lifetime's worth of experience helped bring the Spyder RT program along to where it was successful.
Scotty has been busy building his dream house over the past few years. It is as unpretentious .and classic as the man himself.
He designed it and for the most part he built it.
Scotty is now putting the final touches on a barn that will house his amazing motorcycle collection.
Each bike has a story and each one has been lovingly restored.
I hope Scotty returns to our community to offer his wisdom but even if he doesn't we all owe both him and Nancy gratitude for their support.
A trip with a good friend to meet other friends.
That is really the Spyder Experience.

Both of these members are sorely missed, and it is my fervent hope that they return to us...
Scotty was always the brains of our rag-tag collection of experts...
And Roger remains to this day: it's heart! nojoke

Well said, Gene. I was always amazed at the wealth of experience both those guys brought to this community. I especially miss Roger's poetic missives.

Thanks for the post. I have been wondering what happened to Scotty. Glad to hear he is well and putting the final touches on his dream home. I always appreciated his wisdom and willingness to share it.

Both are remembered and not forgotten. Hope they come back--their posts are missed.:bowdown::firstplace::firstplace:

me too...
Patti,
Do you remember when we met?
Who was under my bike; tightening up a loose heim-link attachment?

Yes I do remember! Was it 2013? It was the first year they had Spyderfest in Springfield instead of Cuba. And my first Spyderfest! And Roger wore that hat everywhere and was mistaken for a movie star!

Yup! That's the year...:D
You met up with us at the Vendor Village!

Scotty & Roger

Folks on here should be asking one question. Why did these two quit/leave Spyderlovers in the first place? I miss their wisdom.

They're the ones that are most qualified to address that...

...and they're also the ones that are least likely to do so.

The last time that Scotty signed in, was to inform us of the passing of another member: Erags...
Roger checked in on August 4th...
He stops by: he just doesn't say much!

I always enjoyed Scott's knowledge and willingness to share/teach us. I often thought about traveling the few miles to Scotti's location but never managed to get that done.
I wish him and Roger the best and hope they both will share some more of their knowledge and insights with us when they are in the frame of mind to do so.
