• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Footpeg Adapters & Install Questions...

Not an engineer, need some questions answered about footpegs and adapters.

1. Bought Kuryakyn front adapters #7939. Seem right size and sturdy. Are these good for about any style footpeg?

2. Will the #7939 adapter fit for rear peg changeouts? The slot on the Spyder for rear pegs looks same size as front... So the question is will a footpeg that fits #7939 be alright in the rear?

3. I also am thinking about a footpeg/rest that needs a splined adapter.
In specific I have access to the Swinging Pegs Kuryakyn #4467 and needs a splined adapter... Which one does anybody know. I think either #8815, or #8816, or #8808 offered by Kuyakyn may be right.

4. This Swinging footpeg is well **** HEAVY ***** . I just weighed the thing on a scale and they come in at amost 2 lbs each side? Question is: can the aluminum support frame on the Spyder support this weight? and the weight of me stepping on it to get on the bike? Please advise. I've never looked at footpegs before, but are they all this heavy. The spyder pegs are very light.... Can the switch be made?

Any help and reassuance would be helpful.

Can someone with alot of knowledge summarize about adapters and footpegs. Perhaps a nice chart of adapters that a Spyder can use from various manufacturers. Looks like the adapters are everybody is trying to use also fit a Goldwing 1800 or Honda bike ??? Is that a good rule of thumb?

I have the Swinwing footpegs installed up front with the 7939 adapter. So yes it does work.

The extra 2 lbs can't possibly make a difference. I wouldn't stand on the Wing portion extended though.

I might be willing to sell you my Swingwings at a dscount as they don't do for me what I wanted. I like having the wider footing surface though and they are very well made. I may try them on the back if they don't sell.

PM me if interested.
